Default Wanna buy the FZ6-S but concern about the low rev..

Hi All,

I noticed this fazer for long time but heard from here about the problem of low torque output at low rev...

i am now riding an NK Honda CB400 and wanna know how the fazer compare with it
i used to ride at high rev [normally ~ 8-9k rpm or larger] on my CB400, at 3rd gear 8-9k rpm have the speed ~80km/h [50mi/h]

any buddies can describe how the fazer like

I seriously do not notice a lack of low end power.

The thing that I do notice, is that my FZ6 has a "flat" spot from around 5000 to 7000 RPM. It's weird.

I think I would describe it by saying if you go to a higher gear and hold the throttle at a fixed amount, the bike will accelerate quickly until the revs hit 5000 rpm. Then the revs climb slower until you get through to around 7000 rpm, where it accelerates quickly again.

I really wish I could clean this up by adjusting the factory PCM, instead of spending $$$ on a power commander.

Even with the flat spot, I find that it has plenty of power. And above 9k, hold onto the bars!

There isnt any real reason for concern. Its got a lot more power than that CB 400 at any rev range, and is probably a lighter bike too. I ride two up all the time and i do not think there is a issue. Most people say the bike lacks power down low because it has so much on top. the bike really pulls above 8000 rpm and hits peak power at 12000 rpm.

I would say that the FZ6 would spank the CB400 like a disobedient child. 3rd gear @ 13K RPM=115mi/h(185km/h). The bike is VERY fast and fun to ride. I doubt that you would be disappointed, I LOVE MINE!!

There is plenty of low end grunt. If you take a look at the same class middleweights, the FZ6 has the same low end as all of them (cept the SV V-Twin obviously). I do notice the 5-7k flat spot but only on full hard accelerations and usually only in 2nd & up cause in 1st, you go thru the rev range so fast on an open throttle. The only way to get more low end is buy a tuned SS, V-Twin, or litre bike.
