06 to 07 conversion almost complete!
I hated the 04-06 fairing, so when I got a 08 full front fairing for a steal I had to do it!
List of items installed:
07 Swingarm
08 Bar Clamp
08 Black Fairing
08 Front fender
07 Gauge Cluster with 4000 miles (plug-n-play with 07+ harness)
To be installed:
07+ rear subframe. Had an eye on a rear subframe but then I've to carry two keys. Maybe I will do it.
Got all items cheap at fleabay so this hardly cost anything.
So logically if you average two years mine is a 07
Also great props for ARao for lending his garage to me and making the gauge brackets. I totally owe you man. Ofcourse even more when we make brackets for the front fender and french belly pan.
IMO, it doesn't look bad if you consider most of the bike is black.

08 Fairing:
Just love the view from the cockpit now. Very clean and compact. I always used to drool over how compact the FZ1 looks but have no complaints now. This bike is a keeper. Also the stock windscreen is great! No buffeting and nicely evens out the wind turbulence. I will ride my friends 07 again and see if I really want a Puig.

I am pretty cheap man and suck at painting. I guess I will keep it black/blue. Just love the view from the cockpit now. Very clean and compact. so are you going to try and change out the tach/speedo as well to the newer one...? that would make this mod all worth it... without that the speedo from the 06 looks too forced into the 08 fairing housing...

I am a jerk . I forgot to bid yesterday on a 08 speedo with just 1000 miles when I remembered just 30 mins before. Donnow when will another surface on ebay. Maybe a year or so...
The 06 speedo doesn't look bad actually. Issue with the 07+ speedo is that I will need to directly hardwire it to the stock harness. I don't want to do that. I like and prefer plug n play.

Hey crazybiker, can you post some information on the guage bracket? Or maybe if you end up getting the 08 cluster could you sell me the brackets?
I have my eye on an 07 front fairing since mines toast.

Closer pics are the ones I already posted. I can post some details that went in making them. I am looking for a 07+ speedo so we will see. I would still like to keep my stock speedo and brackets just in case of legal issues.
Basically the brackets are simple. I mounted them on two of the holes in the 07+ fairing stay. One is a rectangular 3-sided bracket which mounts to the original stay mount points on the speedo and other are two twisted ones that mount to the same holes in the stay and twist to the sides of the speedo's fairing mounts.
