Nice helmet bro. It does look really good with that silver shield on it.

Lasik: Many of my relatives have had lasik and are rediculously happy about it. Just be sure you go to someone that you know or someone else knows is properly trained in it. Just about any doctor can get certified to do this, but not all are properly trained. The FDA is just starting to crack down on this right now, so there are bound to be some bogies out there still.

The highway up Big Bear is highway 330 in Southern California, also known as the front side of Big Bear Mountain. The back side, highway 18, is also a lot of fun and has higher speed sweeper turns instead of the tighter stuff that you see on 330.

Thanks Rob...

I am glad to hear that more ppl are really happy with lasik, because my wife is a little worried... apparently she heard that some ppl are not comfortable with it... I think she heard that from ppl that had it done like 10 years ago, when the laser technology was not so advanced yet...
A guy at my work had it done by the guy who did Tiger Woods and he gave me his name... I`ll look into it

We can stop talking about that Big Bear highway now.... bad memories

When you fall off the horse, you have to get back on it. As soon as your bike is fixed, we'll ride up there again. I know of a really great breakfast place in Big Bear City.

Sounds good to me, nice and easy this time on the way down though. I don't want to have to explain the CHP how your bike got down there yet you are still standing on the road side chatting it up.

Hellgate from the other forum

What do you mean by "but not one seller or one ready to swap"?

Looking forward to riding with you again bro. I have yet to do some real twisties on the new Duc so I need to stretch its legs a bit. Just got the belts replaced and an oil change so its good to go.

You made the right choice on the helmet, I looked at and tried on a Scorpion 1000 and it's shite. Heavy as hell, from what I hear it's noisy as hell, and really the pump thing is quite gimmicky I think. I went with an Arai Quantum II and couldn't be happier. The RF-1000 fit pretty well too, but the Arai was just a bit better fit for me.

Yeah Arai is there for you when you got a weird shaped head

I`ve always stayed away from Arai though, because I think their prices are over the top... I know you get what you pay for, but I believe Shoei's line to be just as good as Arai's and for a more reasonable price. But hey, at the end of the day you gotta be comfy in your helmet, so....

Small update: my gixxer mini headlight fairing is being fixed up and re-painted for $100. I am real happy, because if I can find a cheap gixxer headlight unit on ebay for say $100, then I`ll have 2 headlights

I am thinking about making a special bracket that`ll allow me to swap back and forth quickly between headlights That would be pretty funny...

Or if someone is really interested in the gixxer headlight, I may part with it...
