Default Another naked mod begun..Finally done!

Going naked and the parts should be here tomorrow or Monday. I took the front off for the last time and I really can't wait to get the dual headlights, signals and mirrors on. Anyway, here's what she looks like now. I'm really digging the Suburban Machinery bars now. I'll post more pics hopefully soon.

Looking hot already...

Have you ridden twisties with the suburban already? Did you feel an improvement? How much more forward is the riding position?

Looking forward to seeing the finished machine...

Oh yeah. I have the bars for almost a year. They are probable about 2" forward and 1-1/2 inches lower than stock. I love em. My friend (Thomieboy) has an 06 FZ andwhen I ride his it feels TOO upright. Very friendly in or out of the twisties. Damn parts didn't get here yet. Maybe Monday. I think I might take a sick day. I feel like a kid on Christmas eve. I'm going to bed at like 8 o'clock tonight.

Thanks man! Waiting for better pics to see how these bars look from diff angles

Oh and yes, modding is fun... the problem is it's addicting... so when you`ll be done, you`ll be looking for more stuff to do

I like the looks much better as well. As far as comfort, I honestly can't say that I can tell a big difference. Hopefully the parts are sitting on my front porch right now. I may see if I can get the wife and kids to get started on installing the headlights until I can get home from work. Only kidding, they better not touch anything.

Damn! Finally done...well I guess we're never done, but here she is. This is what happens when you send a spaman48 to do a job wavex should have done. I like it anyway. I think I'll keep her around for a little while. Two things I realized during this mod:
1) I have some really sh**ty tools, and
2) I shouldn't have quit drinking...really stupid.

I love it. The wind is awesome. A little more on your chest than before but I like it. Maybe not so much when it gets cold, but it's not that cold for very long here anyway. I can't say that it handles any different and I never had any problems with visibility but I do like it much more now. And I liked it a lot before. Here's one more pic. My favorite view of the FZ.

Nice *ss!

^+1 I took my newly naked ride to work today. First more substantial ride with the mod, about 35 miles each way, back roads averaging 45-55mph. When I left home the temp was about 40 with the early morning sun peeking through and I dressed the same as I would if I still had the fairing. Within 4 miles I basically drove into a cloud for the rest of the way (moderate fog) and the temp dropped about 10 degrees. The only real cold I felt was in my fingertips, which would have been cold with the fairing too. I loved not having a vortex causing inconsistencies in wind when turning my head and such.
