Default Just wrecked my bike

So now the question is, put it back to factory? or make some minor changes?
I'm thinking I'll probably go naked, at least or a while, to save some money on fairings.
The clutch side fork is bent, possibly the right also. Would it be more cost effective to buy replacement FZ6 forks, or do the R6 fork mod?
Which brings up another issue, since my searching tells me that the spacer kit is no longer available for this, but i can use these parts from Mcmaster-carr.com
98126A797-axle shims(only sold in 5 pack)
93475A280-caliper spacers(only sold in 50 pack)
for all but the fender.
no FZ6 forks to be found on ebay as far as i can tell, where would be a good place to look for them?
Well, that's it for now, just gotta do some thinking on this.

Also thinking, since my rear plastics are destroyed anyway, this tail treatment is really sexy.

Obviously I'd have to rig up a brake light, lic plate mount, turn signals, and such.
My one dislike about the looks of the FZ6 being how far the tail sticks out over the rear tire.
Anyone have any idea where those rearsets are from?

I've got extra caliper shims if you want me to send them to you. You can find FZ6 forks for sale on here and the other FZ6 forum. I think Crazy has some for sale...maybe. I'd go with the R6/R6S forks for sure though.

That tail treatment you posted pictures of is all stock...they just removed a bunch of shit. Mine is in the same condition right now (no rear light / grad rails / etc.) and it looks really good but would need some mods to be street legal.

Naked FTW.

Glad you're ok, can admit your mistake, and hopefully you learned something.

Made some progress today, got 95% of the busted pieces removed. The bolt from the left frame slider sheared off in the crash-so I'll have to get that out of the block, haven't done anything with the forks yet obviously, the handle bar is bent (wanted clip ons anyway), left foot peg broke off, and the brake lever sticks (which puzzles me since it was the left side of the bike that hit the ground mainly).

So I have definitely decided to go naked, because it already looks badass. I wont be putting the rear back together either. I'm going to fab up a new tail from either sheetmetal or fiberglass after I find a taillight.
Speaking of, does anyone know of a site/store that has good pictures of a lot of different headlights and taillights?

So the list of things I have to do is:
Forks (either FZ6 or R6 still not sure)
Head/taillight, and turn signals
Clp-ons (I have a left blackbird, just need to find a right)
Mirrors
Exhaust (possibly under seat but most likely out the side under the swingarm and pass foot peg)
Fix front brake lever
Windshield
New foot peg or new rearsets
Mount Lic plate
mount tach/speedo to bar riser
Finish and clean up hugger
get slider bolt out of block and reinstall with new

Then the things I want to do:
15/48 sprockets
Fab tail fairing
stainless brake lines
fix dents in tank
pazzo shorty levers
Rizoma rearsets
New rear shock (R6?)

ha seems like alot more written out.

My heart cried looking at the wreck.. seems like a nasty one.. Go with R6(S) forks (I sold mine) for sure. Other parts, you can get from ebay. There is a blue tank and grab rail there for sale. Going naked will save you some money on the fairings..

Sorry no can do I still owe money on this sap sucker.
If I do go with the R6S forks and brake, my stock ones will be up for grabs tho.

Right now I'm debating between these two tails:
99-05 Kawi ZXx
or
03-04 GSXR 1000

I haven't been able to find FZ6 forks yet, but what would the price difference be between them and the R6S?

Sorry to hear about this.

Going into a corner too hot has put more than one rider in this spot.
Glad to know you walked away from it.

One more nakid fazer on the way.

Sent you a PM. I've got 06 forks, which I took off to go with the r6 forks and brakes. I'll sell them to you for $80 shipped, but they are silver. Don't know if that is a game changer for you, but they would need to be painted if you want to stay black.

Email me if interested.
