Bad Ass. If my 05 speedo would fit the same way, I would go with the FZ1 headlight. But unfortunately it would mount weird.

Electrical complete. Decided to use the FZ1N native plug system, but soldered to the lighting harness of the FZ6. This preserves the the plug system out of the frame for disconnecting later. You could choose to modify the FZ6 plugs if you really wanted, but either way takes some rewiring and soldering. Pretty basic. You just need to be careful to cut the correct wires. The two plugs coming from the frame intermingle speedo and lighting wiring. As I'm using the native speedo and its plug system I didn't want to touch those.

The headlight has two eyebrow lights that illuminate with the speedo after you turn the key. They stay on as running lights with the low beam when the bike is started.

Mechanically the FZ6 blinkers fit perfectly with the setup (I guess the FZ1 shares the same blinkers - see pics in my first post), but the wiring for those need to be connected to the FZ1N harness as well or you have a M/M (or F/F, I forget) situation.

All in all very simple and about an hour's worth of work.

I have some time tonight to work on the brackets and this weekend I'll do some painting. I decided to paint the bellypan, seat cowl and radiator panels the same flat black as the frame so I picked up the Colorrite paint to match. Color Rite Distributing Co. If it comes out well I'll consider painting the front fender also.

For mirrors I have the rizomas, but the bar mounts are out of stock from Flyncycle so I need to wait a couple weeks.

One thing to note is that the Black for the frame requires a special clear coat (egg shell I believe) so if you're doing it yourself it may be a problem getting it to be a perfect match the frame. I started painting my rear hugger blue, screwed it up and ran outta DPMC from colorrite, so I said what the hell and started over with the extra Frame black that I had, while it's close, it's not perfect.

Sweet!

If you`re going flat black on everything, why not include the tank as well? that would look so mean... basically, that`s the only thing I`d change on your ride bro... make it a single color and it`ll be perfection (for me)... but anyway, awesome!!!

Thanks. Yeah, I talked to them about that. I'm not going to clear coat it first and see how it stands up. If I have to go with the eggshell I'll redo it. The only part I'm concerned about it the front of the bellypan because it's going to hit hit with a lot of crap. What I may do is cut a piece of 3M clear and put it over that area.

lmao... I like how you used the plural for women You own a lot of them?

Yeah I had tried to paint a side cover flat black and I sucked big time... painting in general is tough if you want it to look pro...

Good luck

Read above... he mentioned he got the rizomas already... probably from PJ Parts

$700 just gets your the headlight + headlight bracket + speedo cover (not the speedo itself).

^plus the side panels that integrate the stock blinkers and the wiring harness.

I looked at cheaper double lights (ala speed triple), the KMP (~$500), the FZ6N ($950!!), Ascerbis (sp?), and even the Vrod ($2-300 with all the addtl parts necessary) but the styling of the FZ1N light seemed too perfect for me to pass up. If I was going to do it, I was going to have to love it. Go big or go home!

From a previous post, is it safe to assume that the FZ1N light will only work with a '07 FZ6? I'm looking at getting a used FZ6 for my first bike (getting my license in a month!) and I love the styling of the euro naked fizzers. It's kinda hard to find a used '07...
