*edit* Good thing I ordered it last night for $192. It's now $275 on Rideaddict too.
mother f***er!!!! i was planning on ordering this with my next paycheck too. And now they bumped it there too. Awww sh*t. anyone know why they bumped it up?
seriously though... what the hell. i'm actually really annoyed now. I've been wanting that part, and will have the extra money for it... sh*t sh*t sh*t. damn you FZ6 and your limited aftermarket parts.

It`s coming from Spain... meaning the exchange rate is raping your a$$
Did you call the guy? try it.... he is a good guy... tell him you`re desperate and wanted one at the previous price... with a little luck he`ll still have one laying around or something (I had gotten a great deal like that from him on my first fizzer).
oh and I see you updated your first post, nice what's the "headlight fairing" for? you mean paint it? And you prefer to buy a new tank as opposed to just painting yours?
The bulleted list under primer/paint/clear is the stuff I plan on painting myself. I still need to order the paint supplies from color-rite.
I weighed the pro's and con's of replacing/painting the tank and it's going to be a lot less hassle and quicker to replace it.
I can buy a new 2008 black one for $327 and then sell the red for $200 or so. I doubt that I could find someone who could paint the tank for under $127 (labor + paint/etc).

I wish I could finish it this weekend.
I'll probably just install all the cosmetic accessories, separate the headlight housing, and attach the fork brackets.
Still need to paint the fairing and order the gas tank. I have a lot of soldering, heatshrinking, and wirewrapping to do also. Fun, fun, fun.

Sorry man, it looks like when I ordered one the other night that it automatically increased the price. You should see the price of some of the other FZ6 TCP parts on there. The belly pans went up from like $350 to $579! Damn weak ass Greenback.

Oh my bad sorry I must have been high last night when reading... your list makes sense now
That's definitely the best way to go about the tank... I should have done the same thing
Make sure you test all the eletrical before you heatshrink/wirewrap the whole shiznet

Wow, they bumped all the plastics by 50%! This would have put a screeching halt to the work I did over the winter. I checked out Optima and they jacked their prices (in euros) also. M&P still has a pretty good deal on Puig belly pans. 90 euros = $142+~70 in shipping.
You can still go the powerbronze seat cowl route for under $150.

Progress has been kind of slow because a few of the parts that I ordered are taking a little longer than expected to get in.
Rideaddict got their shipment of TCP parts in from France on Friday, so my seat cowl should be shipping out on Monday (ordered it on 4/05/08).
My fender eliminator showed up after about 3 weeks (the order I placed got lost), and my M4 exhaust should be shipping on Monday (somehow I ended up as the last person in the group buy to get their M4's shipped). I'm really hoping that it will be here by next Friday, so I can install the rest of the tail section items (seat cowl, FE, LED taillights) over the weekend.
Here's a pic of the painted headlight. It has about 3 coats of clear on it right now, but I still need to do another 3 coats sometime this week. There's a TON of orange peel that I'm going to have to sand out since the clear coat aerosol kit from color-rite doesn't atomize very well.
I opened up the headlight using the oven method to soften the liquid gasket that holds the halves together and added 2 bolts on each side for the fork brackets to attach to. My brackets only have one mounting hole on each one, so I'll have to drill another hole to match up. The reason for adding another attachment point is to keep the headlight in a fixed position. This will keep it from being able to pitch up or down due to the constant vibration and shock that it will be exposed to on the road. Plus I won't be able to get to the bolt heads since they are on the inside of the headlight.

Hey man, this place was quiet without you last week.
Here's the current schedule:
Tomorrow - remove front fairing, install mirrors, install headlight/brackets, re-wire the harness
This week - add the final 3 coats of clear to the fairing,
Next weekend - install the M4 exhaust, seat cowl, and fender eliminator; sand out the orange peel and polish KMP fairing
I'm also waiting for the black fuel tank that I ordered from Ronayers to arrive, but I have a feeling that it won't here until late next week or the week after that.
I just saw your crash thread. Those last pics almost brought a tear to my eye. It's sad to see something like that happen to such a beautiful bike. I'm looking forward to your next rebuild thread though.
I must have really bad luck with ordering parts or something (lost orders, delayed items, etc).
The fork brackets that Flyncycle sent are the wrong size.
I measured the I.D. and they are 41mm instead of the 43mm that I ordered. So it looks like I'll be giving them a call on Monday and asking them to resend the right size clamps.
The entire front end has been removed, horn relocated under the triple, and the mirrors attached. I also rotated the brake and clutch levers up more so that they don't point towards the ground. Holding the clutch in for a long time is a lot easier now since it reduced the distance to grab the lever and put it in a more natural position for my hand. I really like the mirrors though and think they will fit the look of the bike pretty good.
I'll probably start re-wiring the harness in a few minutes and remove the speedo from the beheaded Fazer after that.
Here's a picture of my dismantled front end. I was surprised at how much this thing weighed. By taking these parts off and the M4 being half the weight of the stock exhaust, I should be able to drop about 10-15 lbs from the bike.
Sorry about that - I looked back at your pics and saw the fixed size clamps. Deleted my post.
Actually, the opposite of your description, though. 41mm inserts, cut so they fit the 43mm forks, so there is a gap instead of fold-over.
Can't wait to see the finished bike! Must feel good to get the fairing in the classifieds! I have about 400 miles on the newly nakedized beast now. Can really feel the wind above 60mph but I still like it a lot better, just need to hold on. The fairing always made it difficult for me to do head checks because of the sudden change in airflow when my helmet left the buffer zone.

LOL I thought I was going crazy. I thought I saw a post about my brackets, but then it was gone. I edited my post to throw in a picture of my newly dismantled cowl before you just posted so noone would think I'm nutty and talking to myself.
Ah okay I think I see what you mean about the fold-over.
I'm getting antsy to finish this thing off. I just sold my 2007 250R this weekend, so my pocketbook isn't looking that bad anymore after buying all of these parts.
