Congrats Serraph - looking forward to seeing your progress.
Ditto Tom, I'm really anxious to see how that FZ1N headlight is going to look on your bike. I've been watching your thread and it's looking great so far.

Haha yeah, the weird thing about it is that we each have a different version (K3, K4, and K5). I don't know why, but there's just something about a GSX-R headlight on a Fazer that makes it look bad azz.
My trip to the dealership to get the bike is on hold until next weekend. It's just my luck that it starts snowing the night before I was going to go pick it up....
In the meantime, I found a tutorial on how to open up a GSXR headlight, so the mounting problem shouldn't be that big of an issue anymore.
I'm thinking about adding some angel eyes to the headlight....
Do you guys think that this is too rice for a fazer? I don't plan on doing a "Fast and the Furious" underglow kit on it or anything.
I think it looks bad ass as well. Just need to make sure to turn it off if any LEOs approach since I think blue and red are reserved for fire and police.
I've seen this method mentioned a few times on different GSXR forums, so it seems like a good method. People have also been using heat guns to get them open.
Well, I just got back from a 6 hour round trip to the dealership in Paducah, KY.
My first impression: This bike is a beast compared to my Ninja 250R. I'm used to having to near red line my other bike to get any decent acceleration out of it. I made sure to take it easy on this first ride since I'm not accustomed to the shift points or the power of the engine yet.
The clutch will take some getting used to. The engage/disengage is very short compared to my 250, and I ended up stalling when I tried to take off from my driveway. D'oh
Thought I'd give a little update. I haven't had much time to work on my conversion the last 2-3 weeks because I moved from an apartment I was renting into a new house and had to finish up by the end of March. Now that that is over with I can finally concentrate on this project.
Here are some pictures with the extended frame sliders and black side covers installed.
My FazR6 FE is taking longer than expected to get here. That was supposed to be my project for the weekend.
Next weekend I'll probably install the fender eliminator, belly pan, and crack open the headlight to figure out how I want to secure the brackets to it.
The mirrors, led rear signals, and fork brackets that I ordered earlier this week from Flyncycle.com should be at my house on Tuesday according to the UPS tracking number.
I'm a little pissed about the seat cowl though. It was $199 last week at TwistedThrottle.com and now it's up to $275! I blame myself for procrastinating in ordering it. Oh well.
Got mine from rideaddict too... the guy who owns the website lives like 5min from my work, so I picked mine up directly cool guy btw... he is from Eastern Europe originally
So you got most of the parts you need to make it happen huh? this wkd maybe???
Can`t wait to see my first fizzer come back from the dead
oh and I see you updated your first post, nice what's the "headlight fairing" for? you mean paint it? And you prefer to buy a new tank as opposed to just painting yours?
