Bar end mirrors

There are a bunch of them, all the same, all with differing titles.
They are ok.. I would recommend clamping them directly to the bar weights like I did (they need to be turned down). Overall they are just ok quality. The hardware looks chinese, and there was flash from casting left on the clamping parts which I sanded off and repainted.

I am very pleased with them after modding them, and considering the price. They work well for me.

I love how they look... I decided not to go with bar-end mirrors because I split traffic like a mofo and would be afraid to destroy them on some cager's mirrors

I decided on a V-Rod headlight early on because I liked its raked back classy style and am not a big fan of the euro streetfighter style headlights. The V-rod headlight was $120, and was painted black with fusion paint. However, the mounting brackets that I found on the internets were not my style/budget etc. So, I machined some clamps out of 3/4 Aluminum plate which clamp to the forks at my friend's pop's garage (bought him a gift certificate for a fancy eatery in exchange for letting me use his mill).

The "ears" which attach the headlight to the clamps are cut from 1/8" aluminum and filed/sanded to shape. I also cut a mounting plate for the speedo cluster from the same stuff which bridges across the handlebar mounts (it uses the back two bolts) and the rubber grommets fit into the plate, maintaining the cluster's vibe isolated mounting.

For mirrors I ordered $50 ebay units, and machined down the bar end weights on my small lathe so that they clamp directly to those. The front turn signals are $20 units that are fairly similar to the stock units, just smaller.

I also made my own fender eliminator which the stock rear turn signals mount to (i cut out holes of the same shame that they originally mounted to). This was made out of 1/8" aluminum L channel and I am really proud of it (unfortunately it is covered by the license plate, and is not really visible).

Also I did the R6 forks and brakes, airbox mod, and tech spec tank grips cut from their universal sheet (enough for 2 sets, I sold the second).

In any event, I am thrilled with the result, and it was very cheap (especially if I sell the stock fairing which would make it basically free).

how about a close up pic of your speedo mount.

Will do. I'll pull off the speedo cluster quick, and take a picture of the piece. Probably won't be till the end of the week, but I'll post it in a new thread.

Hey Seanie, are you still around?

Can I commission you in fabing up a set of your "ears" headlight clamps and a mounting plate for the speedo cluster? I want to use the same V-Rod headlight/signal set as yours.

Thanks.
