well given the amount of non-interest i havent really been motivated to work on it further. the molds are half-way done though. but if you really want one for real i can have it to you in a few weeks at the least.

looks amazing!! Id have to agree with oso though the tail is a little high in the air. Is there anyway to change that if I would be interested in doing this. Also you need to have a write up on this to show what parts you used and how you mounted it to the subframe. Anyways looks great, the only thing thats possible to do is trim you rear hugger.

Hello all...

I was referred to this awesome forum by oso from the fz6-forum. I read the whole thing and was wondering where these last few pics came from. Was it a the french access composites R1 tail or the cobra skins or even an actual r1 tail? I'm looking to do this exact thing to my 09 FZ6. Thanks

I'm guessing wavex pulled this from his naked bike thread. Not his bike. BTW, ped can comment on this, but I'm guessing that the Access Composites tail is only slightly different from a regular R1 tail. The cobraskinz tail I have is made for R1's.

so this bike is not wavex's. from looking at the pictures i think its definitely an actual r1 tail or something very close. the french one seems a little bit bulkier on the sides around the seat. oso i really appreciate all the help ill stop posting to the fz6-forum and keep it here cause this seems to be where ill get most if not all of my answers. maybe i should just pm ped. by the way how do you like palmdale? me and the wife go to la quinta with her parents sometimes.

ped will have details on how to mount it. I never got that far.

East Palmdale where I live aint so bad. The newer homes on the west side are real nice. That side of the freeway reminds me of Rancho Cucamonga. I like off-roading so this puts me within an hour or so of almost all the places I like to ride (the exception being San Gabriel OHV Area).

rancho cucamonga is a nice area i'd love to live up there. anyways i sent a pm to both ped and wavex to see if i could get as much info as possible. man i'm really into putting an r1 tail on there. i like the under tail exhaust of the fz but im not that big of a fan of the seat. i probably should have just got the r1 but the wife told me i wasnt allowed to have a liter bike. funny thing is she didnt even know what a liter bike was until the sales guy said superbike class....

Lol@wife. Luckily, my wife rides so I'm good. She actually told me she would rather have me ride street than track because the only time she was afraid of me riding was when I went down at CA/AAA Speedway ~18 months ago. And in fact, it didn't even come up as an issue until wavex, calirider, defyinertia, rsw81, and hellgate stood at my place for a trackday. Wavex went down that day and then she told me.

If you need an R1 tail, I'll sell you mine cheap($65 shipped, $50 if you want to pick it up). I don't have the motivation anymore to finish it and ped proved that it can be done.

Umm...I'm in Palmdale (93552), not Palm Springs or Palm Desert. ;) About ~110 miles NW of you as opposed to ~80 miles E of you.
