Naked - The Sequel

Alright so I started my 2nd Naked project, and plan to share a little more details about the process this time -particularly about swapping the front fairing with a naked headlight-.

Here is what I am starting with:

Current mods: Laser Exhaust, R6 forks & brake, powder coated rearsets, Pazzo shorty levers, Motovation frame sliders, FAZR6 FE, painted radiator covers (flat black), black side covers (temporary covers on this picture), stickers and reflectors removed, and grip puppies.

Here is a list of the mods I will add to make it naked:

- KMP K4 custom gixxer headlight
$650 shipped (you may see that as a steep price, but keep in mind you can get money back if you sell your front fairing/headlight... last time I got $300 for it... this time I already sold $150 worth and still got mirrors, windshield, turn signals and some fairing bits for sale...)

- Rizoma black "Dynamic" mirrors
$152 shipped.

- Mirror adapters
$24 shipped.

- Mirror black handlebar clamps
$23 shipped.

- Rizoma black Track-01 LED FRONT turn signals
$74 shipped.

- Turn signal fork mounting clamps
$78 shipped.

- Rizoma black Zero LED REAR turn signals
$74 shipped.

- Black painted gas tank + headlight fairing
$250 (done by a friend of mine who owns a shop...)

- Firehawkcpo's speedo bracket, with handlebar clamps (same as for mirrors)

I actually ended up using these for the speedo: click with a few rubber grommets against vibrations...

MISC:

- Puig black belly pan
$200 shipped (shipped to my family in France and forwarded to me for free

.... else it's way too much to get it shipped to the US directly)

- TCP black seat cowl
$200 shipped.

More details about the actual conversion will follow soon.

What a coincidence.
I was just u tubing exhaust notes and saw the nekid #1.

These bikes look SOOOO nice bLACk.
I don't think i'd go naked... but bLACk is calling my name.

You will have this process pretty steamlined by now.

Also post what are the estimated itemized costs for going for this naked mod. Its ok, if the prices are not the best one you got but just post what it cost you.

Instead of a gixxer headlight (which does look good), can't you just get the naked european stock FZ6 headlight and gauges?

Yes, you can, for 500 euros ($725 + $100 for shipping and without the gauges...). My goal though is not to make it similar to the Euro naked model... my goal is to make it unique

You should slap on one of the motogadget speedometers. I want to see someone do a nice install of one on the fz6. They look really sweet.

Well you don't have to pay the VAT tax so that makes it $420 + shipping. Also you have a speedometer you could sell toward funding it. Sell the old speedometer for around a buck and you are in business. You know you want to.

(Also it will give you a voltmeter Functions, gear position indication, trip time, acceleration 0-100, & gear shift light hookup)

Just waiting on the headlight now, which was shipped a couple of days ago... looks like I`ll be going naked next weekend

I had the Rizoma mirrors on my previous FZ, and I love them. They do not give you the same "wide angle" rear view as the stock mirrors, but after a couple of days or riding you get used to it (as long as you check you dead angle anyway, it`s fine). They also magnify what`s behind you a little bit and are slightly tinted. Again, I really like them!

Just finished mounting the Rizoma "Zero" rear turn signals... first time I use these and they are bright and their design is awesome! Love em

Wavex, congrats on a second naked FZ6. Sorry but i missed the part where you previous fizzer dissapeard. How the heck you got another fizzer to mod???
BTW Rizoma stuff is so so so cool. I'm gonna have to

myself for not getting Rizomas and trying to save couple hundred

Hey bro... Rizoma is definitely worth putting the extra cash down imo. I had "Shock" rear turn signals (looked good and were half the price of the Rizomas) on the previous fizzer, but everytime I would wash the bike, they would be filled with water condensation (they were not totally sealed)... pos! So this time I did not hesitate, and took the Zeros from Rizoma.

About my old Fizzer: Crashed!
