The lines of that fairing actually seem to line up with the FZ tank and frame half decently!
I know he mentioned it in the caption under the pic, but that chin i looks like it's a tire scraper! Could he not set the whole thing back 3/4-1"???
He had to cut/shave the bottom lip of the lower. I wish I had taken my camera when I saw him earlier. The fairing is about as far back as it should go (notice how it fits the stator). After trimming it, however, it fits really well especially since he chose to customize the FZ6 fairing stay. He's gonna weld custom rods and brackets onto it.

More pics. The front is done! Just needs finishing touches applied (final sand, paint, rubber bushings and/or foam to prevent rubbing)
Awesome dude! Can't wait to see it with some paint. I think it's gonna look great.
Have you ridden it yet? Curious how the wind protection is.
Would be cool to see a different top triple clamp. Without the bar holders.
I also really like the exposed cans. Would be cool to preserve that somehow with some plastic on the tail that leaves them out.
I agree about the triple clamp. I might try to find an 07 triple clamp cover. With the forks underneath the triple, the hand/wrist position is just about right where I want it. I want to bring the rear sets up a bit (and made just a tad back) but the riding position is otherwise just like my R6S. The brake reservoir is rotated a tad but everything clears the upper right now. I sat on it with the kickstand down but I've yet to ride it. Which might be tricky. No lights, signals, or license plate (for now). My customizer suggested I put the old tail back on. I'd like to try to figure out how to get the rear R1 tail on but I might have to cut the front part of it short (almost half its length) and then put a mesh where I cut it kind of like the CBRs or Ducatis.
Woa....that front-end is set WAY low at the moment. How much room until it bottoms out?
Are you talking about the bottom triple to the lower part of the fork? I'd say about 4 inches. You can see the "watermark" from when I trailer the bike. The "watermark" is pretty close to the point of full compression on the springs.
Been following this since you started and all I can say is BAD ASS. Fuck what anyone says about the logic or functionality behind it or whatever - you're a pioneer and it looks sick as hell!

Thanks. I'm loving way it looks and the encouragement I've received has kept me going and spending. Thanks again!
I'm thinking you'll want to re-route that front brake line. You really don't want the tire rubbing on it.
Yeah. I'm planning on cleaning that up now that the custom fairing stay has been built. I finally have points where I can zip tie them! As a side note: I think R6 length steel braided lines will easily work in this configuration (forks lowered 1"+, clip-ons underneath the top triple).
So I was talking to the customizer today and he said he's gonna try to make templates for the set back plates. He said he might have a CNC buddy willing to churn a dozen or so made out of aluminum. If anybody is interested, let me know in a PM.
