Yup I'm still interested, as long as the price is relatively low. Just let me know before hand.

I'm gonna see my gf's brother-in-law tonight but last I heard he was waiting on a delivery of aluminum to come in so that these plates would be from fresh aluminum an not scrap. They're gonna be real cheap though. He's finding ways of producing them inexpensively.

This is the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger on some actual rear sets.

I hear ya. I'm waiting too. He's got my rear sets and I can't work on my bike until I get them back. I asked my gf to ask what's up with the plates and he told her he's still waiting on that delivery of aluminum. I asked last week how much it would cost for him to get a small order of aluminum if I paid out of pocket (he offered to do the plates with the surplus aluminum from that delivery). He responded, "Maybe a $100 but I'm not sure." So if you guys are getting anxious and wanna try to speed up the process, I can ask him to get a quote on the aluminum and we can split up the cost. Otherwise, I'm willing to wait to see how cheap he can make them on his own. And I have no idea how much a plate of aluminum will yield. The plates I had were roughly 4"x5" and I'd assume a 4'x4' plate could yield 6 or 8 sets.

I'll call him though and see what he says.

theres no way you need 4'X4', thats gonna cost alot of money first of all. Setbacks you showed were really small, you just have to conserve space.

on the bright side count me in as a definate with x-mas coming around

I'm new to the modification seen, and have only had my FZ6 for 5 months, but I'd have to say that fairing on your bike is freakin sexy. I'm gonna have to call up my girlfriend's uncle who builds custom choppers to see if he could hook me up with some fairing like that. I would love to get my FZ6 a bit more sportier with some fairing and lowering. I'm not too much of a technical person, but I'll try to study up a bit more to see what all these changes you did. $1100 sounds pretty freakin cheap too. Did that include the fairing and exhaust? Those alone looked to be around $1.1k total.

No worries. I was suppose to get call with a quote to buy the materials but that never happened. If nothing happens by the end of the week, I'm just gonna ask for my plates back from my gf's brother-in-law. I'm getting impatient too.

I think I may have said spent that much before I started modifying the bike for track use (tires, filters, oil, etc.). I've probably spent about $2000 now in parts and labor to get the bike where it is (custom fairing, custom fairing stay, custom brackets, PC III, brakelines, clip-ons, set back plates).

Updated my parts list and costs (picked up a PC III and a Ohlins Rear Shock on the cheap!). I'm now just under $3000 for the parts that I have used and for labor I've paid for (and a few $100 over if you include some of the parts I have not used yet).

See page 1 for the parts and costs list.
