Hahah...I paid $130 + 8.25% tax to get them fabbed. It's still half the price of cheapest set of Rizoma's I've seen and the position feels almost like my R6S. They're kinda heavy because they're steel (but adding weight to a bike low & near the center of the bike can be good), so shipping could add up but I haven't even thought about selling them. I don't know if I'd be interested in selling them. And you would have to modify your shifter and shifter rod to get it to work.
Are you planning on trying to get a run of these made?
For those interested, if I could a get a run of these made relatively inexpensively ($150-$175 per pair vs. $400-$600 for a set of Rizomas), would you guys be interested? I could also see if I could get them made in aluminum.
My fuggin rental home got wrecked last Friday by flooding and some of my bike parts got wet or damaged...I probably won't be working too hard on my bike until get all my litigation done as I do not have renter's insurance but I will have a lawyer by end of the day.
Good News:
My future brother-in-law has agreed to make me a run of my set back plates in the shop he works at.....IN ALUMINUM!!! They're gonna be so fuggin clean!!! I'll have a pair of first run plates in the next few days and then hopefully a bunch of sets to sell soon after. All those rough edges you saw in those pics, he's gonna clean up. Have your PayPal accounts ready.
shitty man... hope it works out for you. on the plus side, had you had renter's insurance, it most likely wouldn't have covered flooding anyway unless you had a rider on it specifically for floods.

It probably would have been covered knowing how CA insurance companies work. They charge us 3x's more than what the rest of US pays but we're generally well-covered. I'll be asking my lawyer about that...

I gotta agree with the other guys. Flooding is almost never covered unless you have specific flood insurance. Was it man-made flooding (e.g. pipes bursting upstairs) or natural (e.g. creek rising)?
Years ago (1999 Hurricane Floyd), my apartment's garage was flooded out, and renters insurance covered nothing. Luckily, I didn't really loose much. I had a Katana 750 in the garage which became submersed, but it had full coverage and they totaled it. I was able to rinse off most everything else. I did lose a boombox and some trivial things, but luckily my car was not in the garage at the time. I'm also lucky that while I had a garage, my apartment was on the second floor.
Here are some pictures of one of the many floods that hit my place: FLOOD 2K
What irritated me most, is that my place was in a flood plain and it was never mentioned to me by the landlord or in the lease. That doesn't seem right to me. After that first flood in 1999, I was paranoid every time that it rained hard for a long time. And rightfully so, since I ended up having water in the garage at least four more times that I was in that apartment.

There was 0.5" of rain on Friday night and the roof and part of the exterior wall was partially exposed due to remodelling.

That's like the flood that hit my Aunt and Uncle's store in Binghamton, NY (2 years in a row).
The second time it happened because the owner of the housing development downstream illegally blocked the drainage to save "his" houses, never once thinking about the people upstream.

I'm gonna open up another thread so we can keep this one on topic from now on. I'll post my pics too. Thanks for all the advice guys...I'm gonna let my lawyer try to get me $4800 (rent+deposit+damaged property).
On a happier note...I should be getting a first run of those setback plates real soon! Who is interested?
Previously, I had ktravelet, DefyInertia, randomchaos (before accident), and maybe fazer512, killernoodle, mbodell. With more people showing interests, I can get more fabbed lower the per unit price of the run. Speak up if you're interested.
