keep the frame and metals one color and the plastics and tank a gloss finish.

the headlight looks unfinished when compared to the rest of the plastics (rear covers, belly pan) and tank.

thanks for the pics on the light pattern from the front, but i was thinking more of the lighting on the road at night. i remember some people with the acerbis cyclops said the lighting at night was garbage.

one more suggestion would be to get a new tach/guage set-up. something smaller that can hide behind the plastics of the headlight.

I think you`re right... I`ll probably have it re-done to glossy black this wkd.

The cyclops lighting isn't "crap" per say, but it's definitely not great either... what I did not like about the cyclops is the cheap feel... bendable plastic, floppy number plate, rubber strap mounts...etc.
This headlight is a gixxer headlight, so it's great... about the lighting on the road at night, I`ll try to get some pics tonight.

Yeah I thought about mounting the speedo behind the mini-fairing (would look like stock naked), but your idea to get a new speedo all together is probably better in that it`ll certainly be easier to mount... anyone want to swap an '07 speedo for an '06?

So, I just noticed something...interesting. It looks like the 05-06 GSXR1000 has this as a part of the front cowling. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/gsxr-...spagenameZWDVW

I noticed awhile back a guy in my town that looked like he had a "naked" GSXR. Looking at this part, I now see that he simply removed the lower fairings off his GSXR1000, and the ram air covers. Think you can buy the matching headlight with this cowling, and get a decent windscreen with the naked look?

WOW! I was trying to find a mini-fairing for the gixxer headlight and could not find anything... this one doesn't look bad at all and I am pretty sure you could do something pretty sweet looking with it.

You would just need to get the headlight itself, which should not be that expensive on ebay... HOWEVER, the only problem I see -aesthetically- is that this mini-fairing does not cover the sides of the healight... and it's a pretty "deep" (dimension wise) headlight, which needs some "side covering" to look good (see my pics). You may be able to fab something up for it though...

You`re going naked?

I have been thinking of going naked for a long time now . I dont think I would be too worried about the sides of the headlight. Here is a guy that mounted one of the GSXR1000 headlights on his bandit, headlight by itself. Doesnt look too bad from the side. Wonder if you could even get the ram air covers mounted up. Those would cover up the sides of the headlight if it is just too ugly.

Indeed he didn`t do a bad job at all... he just painted the front part of the headlight... not sure if it`s the exact same as mine though (mine looks like it's a little bulkier), but very cool.

Please keep us updated if you do go that route... I`d be very interested to see your progress reports

wavex your bike is sexy, And it makes me wanna change my bike more, I hate the crappy feel of the acerbis headlight, I kinda wanna try and go for a speed triple look and have a few ideas of how to do that. I really like your new light, I really like how bright it is! 750 is a bit more then i would wanna pay for a headlight...but then again...it looks so good!

yeah I was lucky I still had an old bank account in France with 1000 euros on it
But that headlight (painted in blue) on your FZ6 would look sick.

And remember, once you start modifying your fizzer, it never stops

Updated pix... seat cowl should arrive soon. Headlight fairing will be re-painted (by someone who actually knows what he is doing) within a couple of weeks

At a shop by my house there is a suzuki headlight like that on sale. it's black and not in a box. I think it's 150 or somewhere in there. Not sure if that's a good deal but if anyone is interested drop me a line and maybe I can help you get it.

So f'in hot! Almost tempting enough to make me want to go Naked with that headlight. If only I had money laying around instead of student loans. If anyone has a spare stock headlight laying around, I could use one for a projector retrofit I want to do.
