- New AlpineStars Octane S-Moto gloves (to replace the JR Phoenix gloves that a mouse nibbled a finger out of.) BTW, these gloves are sized pretty small. I usually wear a XL and had to get XXL in these. I'm glad that I bought them at a local shop where I could try them on.
I'm debating about updating the lame, ball style steering head bearings too. I haven't inspected the existing bearings yet, but the needle bearings are cheap enough and I'm going to have the front end apart while putting on the forks...
I'm also debating getting some tire tools, instead of constantly paying people to mount and balance them for me.
Sounds pretty familiar to my springtime modfest. If yours goes as well as mine has, you'll have a great sense of accomplishment when you see the transformation complete. Good luck!

Use frame sliders. One never knows when a cripple is about.
That's what I did last year, so I have to make up for it now.
All I've done is remove the rear hugger a la superman89 and put down fjr's decal kit on the bike. Good thing is this is the first weekend in nearly 3 weeks that didn't have a hint of rain (imagine that in SoCal). It let me finally wash my bike to put down the decals. It kinda sucks only being able to ride one or two days a week. Here are the pics.
I put the tuning forks because my Fox tank bag scratched that area and I wanted something more distinctive. fjr did a great job on my custom 5" tuning forks and number 28. I also got a 28 for my Axio Swift hardpack but at 8"x5" it seems huge and flashy to me. Need to rethink it.
I just wanted to give kudos to California Sport Touring ( www.casporttouring.com ). I ordered the Symtec grip heaters from them on Friday and chose the cheap USPS priority mail shipping, since I wasn't in a hurry. They are in California and I am in Pennsylvania, but today (Monday) I checked the mailbox and the grip heaters are in there. Wow. USPS really delivered the mail quickly!
If I remember the other posts, I guess I need to get some friction tape to put on the bars under the heating elements. I suppose that I should also upgrade my stock grips to something better too. I will also toss a relay on there, so I don't accidentally leave them on.
Using my new stealthy capabilities provided by my recent TPS update, I slowly sneaked up behind an old lady in a parking lot this morning.
I turned on the high beams, engaged the hazards, held down the horn, revved her up to the rev limiter and kicked the old bag over and rode off with her walker cackling madly.
I threw the walker at the nearest disabled child while doing a wheelie and gave the hot mother a wink. I think she was turned on.

I might not melt, but I might turn into a wet FZ6 pancake. I tell you, drivers in LA are so damn bad, it's not unusual for us to have hundreds of accidents after a relatively light rain. Nobody signals, people speed all the time, nobody pays attention to their driving, people talk on the cellphone/put on makeup/shave/eat/beat their kids senseless/etc.
Let's just say more than a few times, I've come across oopses that made me lock my back brakes or have had to use my horn in an angry manner. Sometimes I think its safer on a bus than in a car (let only a motorcycle) here in LA. At least if you get in an accident in a bus, you know who is gonna win that battle. Factor in rain and you got a recipe for disaster.

Sounds alot like Atlanta. Except when it rains here, we also get the doofuses in pickup trucks in the far left lane doing 30mph and flashing their hazards. If it's such dire weather, why don't they just pull over?
Cagers are horrible everywhere. I've ridden in rushhour in about 14 different large cities though, and I have to say the worst driver crown goes to Mephis, TN. What they lack in congestion, they make up for in stupid.
