I've got to say it, and it's nothing personal, just another opinion. It looks like crap. I'm running my bike with the naked look right now (single 8" round headlight) because I broke the cowling last week. The wind effect raises hell with the bikes performance. I can't wait to get the new cowling. If I want a cruiser I'll get one. If I want to be naked I'll take my clothes off.

i dont have a problem with wind.....it cuts through it like a knife
i got blown around more with the half fairing
the fairing acts like a sail on a boat
as for perfomance its alot better its lighter , faster, stops with no nose dive
the single light thoughs the light out pretter i think its brighter too
i would like to see a pic of your 8"light please share

Here goes...I was planning on painting the pieces and doing some kind of naked fairing to cover stuff up, but I can't stand it. At 63.44 for a new cowling that's cheap enough.
Apology for dark pics

Awesome! - question tho - what do the 1B31 and 1B32 in the last column stand for. It looks as if there is a diff. headlight assembly for each. Any thoughts?
Hmmm... didn't know there were two models of the Naked... the N and the NS. Anyone know the diff?

That's really cool looking Bill W - why'd you do it? What about the gage? What was the cost? Where'd you get parts? How hard was it? Did you have to make your own brackets? etc....
Sorry about all the Q's - just figure it's a good idea to capture all this here, for anyone down the line.

did it because my bike fell of a lift and landed on the garage floor, breaking the cowling. I cobbed together some brackets from an '72 honda csx500 in the barn. Thought I might paint then black or silver. I did have the gauge mounted but took it off. I don't like the visibility of the wires...waiting anxiously for my new cowling

Can you post a picture of the lower mounting bracket? How hard was it to make, etc??? Is the factory one pictured anywhere in here ( http://forums.sportbikes.net/forums/...ad.php?t=11115 )
Also - I have my contact getting me the back cover part number, but I'd like to get the lower mount as well - but don't have a pic of it... any thoughts?

also - do you want the mirrors and bracket numbers? I can possibly just have them throw it all in one order and you can pay me back for them. No sense in all the shipping. Also - where I am ordering my stuff, so far for all the parts - my total is $525.55 minus shipping. I also looked on ronayers.com and can get almost all the nuts, bolts, and grommets for $31 shipped - which is about $40 less (not including shipping) than prices anywhere else.

Man... don't ever cross my line of sight... for I'll kill you!
You murdered the bike!
It looks like a f**king Hornet!
You should've bought the original headlight if you were thinking about making the FZ6S a FZ6N.
I can't believe you just did that... shame on you!

WFT?!? Chill out man. It looks good. Probably cost him a lot less than $600+ too.
Bill, not sure if I followed you... are you buying a new front fairing and going back to the original look, or were you talking about a different fairing?
