Thanks for the info. Downloading the PDF now.

I have my SS lines on order...seems like everyone is out of stock of the FZ6 ones. Love to hear what brand and where people got them from.

I bought the FZ6 type lines (Spiegler) from kneedraggers.com. probably not the best price, but I didn't mind too much.

I got mine from a company selling them on ebay. They are goodridge and were about $70. He has them listed all of the time in the buy-it-now grouping.

Another question regarding the front brakes; did you put new brake pads on the calipers before you installed them and also what did you do with the existing front rotors (resurfaced/replaced or not). I only have 1500 miles on my bike and im thinking I might be able to get away with just putting new pads on my (slightly) used rotors.

I just got better replacement pads (SBS) and reused the original rotors and added SS lines.

From memory yes and there is also a few years of R1 calipers that work too.

Did you just get stock FZ6 line lengths, or the longer lines with different banjo ends that were originally recommended in this thread?

Someday I have to order the rest of the parts and find the time to finish this mod.

for the calipers, do I also use the original washers when I mount them, or just the bolt and shim?

Look at the picture Mike posted above with the caliper shim shown, think that should answer your question.

Not sure what you mean. You use the original bolts that hold the stock calipers on but there is no washer on mine. Just a bolt with a wide flange cast into it. Like WTVa said, look at the pictures and you will see the bolt and the shims placed between the caliper and the fork.
