It's basically the same as putting on an R6 shock except you maintaine the same amount of travel (5.1"). And yes, race tech makes rear springs as well.
so did you ever get the R1 shock mounted up and the fitment correct...? if so hows it perform...?

Is the R1 shock better than the R6 shock and easier to fit?
Ohlins 46HRC Rear Shock for me. I haven't really had a chance to ride the bike yet but almost anything is gonna be better than the OEM shock. It was too soft for 235lbs and not enough feedback when set to higher preload settings.
Is the R1 shock better than the R6 shock and easier to fit?

I am looking at the ohlins too. I beleive yamaha may own the company. The Ohlins PDF instruction manuals look identical to the Yamaha FZ6 service manual. My next mod is an ohlins shock.
