That rear sprocket looks filthy... I must agree with WQ...

Street Legal?! GTFO!

If it's got 4 wheels, it has to comply with federal seat belt mandates, among a million other things, like 5 mph rated bumpers, airbags, etc.

when I used to ride three wheelers in the desert there were guys putting 750cc engines in them and we thought they were crazy. This takes it to an all new level!

I call BS. If they got that thing actually titled and registered, then it was a fluke, and you might be OK if you stay in MN, but no way could you get that thing titled elsewhere.

In fact, a Yamaha, BMW, and I think Honda have all put out prototypes of four-wheeled street "bikes" just like that (quads with street tires basically) and are trying to get DOT to change laws so they'll be legal.

And, that rear sprocket doesn't really look all that bad to me... Just road grime on the lube it could just use a wipe and some new lube...

^^^ true enough, from that perspective that thing would be crazy fun. But scary, and dangerous. Probably very instable side-to-side, you get a little wobble and soon your barrel rolling. I bet wheelies are fun tho!!

No. It would probably fall under the states "kit car", "classic car" or "Farm equipment allowed on roadway" type rules.

Laws vary from state to state but as long as it makes the basic rules under any one of the above clauses it is probably fine.

Wrong. It depends on the state. In Arizona, 4 wheelers can be registered and run a motorcycle plate. It's totally legal to ride on the roads as long as it's registered and the operator has a cycle license and insurance. All you need is a headlight, taillight, and horn. Hand signals can be used in place of turn sigs.

I lived there for a summer and was planning to move to Flagstaff. I got by with my CA Green Sticker as I was from out-of-state and rode all over without getting hassled by the man. If I had stayed I would have gotten the AZ cycle plate for it.

The big score: anyone, any sex, over 75 years old has been upped to 100 points.

Pennsyltucky won't allow quads on the road until harley builds one. Then it'll be a POS weighing 1800 lbs utilizing 1920's technology and priced at 30 large. But it'll be loud and have lots of chrome. 4 wheels are better than 2 for bar-hopping.

I've ridden quads with full knobbies at 70MPH on pavement and it's not bad. 100 is probably fine with street tires. It's like anything else, if you do something dumb you're gonna wipe out. With as many crashes as there are with cycles maybe some would do better on 4 wheels...

I wouldn't ride a three wheeler at those speeds on pavement though. I crash them bad enough in the dirt.
