FZ1 For the rider who likes sportbike performance but prefers more comfortable ergonomics. The FZ1 offers a more traditional upright seating position, yet sacrifices nothing in terms of engine and handling performance.

At the rear wheel it will very from 130HP to 135HP depending on wheather ! I like my Micron, I think it would work well for ya, you might get 2 - 4 HP out of a aftermarket slip on.

really lookin at getting an fz1 in the future and wondering if there is a clip-on mod to replace the dirtbike bars??? it looks like there is enough room stock to change them to the clipons just wondering if anyone has tried it...??? and the bikes look great...

i just really dont car much for the dirtbike bars and like the feel of clipons and their position and also the look... id do it on the fz6 if it wasnt such a hassle... and looks like the forks are up high enough stock on the fz1 to just attach clipons to them... i just think it looks and feels better for the way i ride... i like a more aggressive position...

Hi, I bought an 07 FZ1 3 weeks ago Ive put about 800 miles on it. It is now in the shop due to terrible FI hesitation issues. Apparently, the 06 and 07 have this problem. Any ideas on the best thing to do? Im feeling had by Yamaha. If I cant figure it out I am planning on selling it pronto which would break my heart because it is a stunner to look at and it handles well.

Other annoyances I wouldnt expect...

The front brakes hiss loudly when applied (is this because its new?) My last naked bike (919) didnt do this of the showroom floor.

The gas gauge is a major annoyance and makes me fill up every 100+ miles. Even though the tank is 4.75 capacity, I never even get 3 gallons in. This sux on weekend rides to have it blinking at me all the time. Am I supposed to check the trip meter circa 1985?

The sound the engine makes when shutting it off sounds like dropping a wrench on pavement. It makes some wierd metal on metal sound Ive never heard out of any bike Ive owned ( 2 Hondas and a Suzuki) its wierd and sometimes even embarrasing around other riders.

The low end sucks my 919 would smoke it off the line but perhaps this is due to the FI hesitation probs Im having.

Any help would be appreciated Im having serious buyers remorse and wishing I had gone for the Z1000, Aprilia R1000 or a Speed Triple.
