I updated my iphone and when it was done I pulled it from the charger and all of my 150 Contacts are GONE!!!

that sucks...it should of alerted you that it was going to do that. Generally whenever you update something it wipes it...atleast my windows mobile phone does. Did you back stuff up on your laptop??

I have been heavily looking into the Instinct cause I am already a sprint customer. Any problems with it? WOuld you buy it again?

It's not $140 a month. Sprint's top plan is $100 a month for everything... data, talk, internet, everything.
I like the phone, though. It has real GPS, turn by turn driving directions with live traffic updates, voice commands, something called Live Search which I use all the time... say I'm in Tampa, and I want to find a Hooters... I say "find Hooters" and it finds all of them starting with the closest one to where I'm at the moment. From there it brings up the phone number for me to call, turn by turn directions to get there, a map of where they're located and more.
The camera is pretty good, and it has a camcorder, something the iPhone doesn't have. I can also send picture texts (iPhone doesn't do that either).
The only drawback I have is the browser... the iPhone has a much better browser, but how much surfing do you really do with a cell phone anyway?
I get my emails straight to my phone, plus it has visual voice mail (like the iPhone) so I can see my voice mails and only play the ones I want to.
Hey gixxer I have the same phone. So far I am not too overly impressed with it, I don't know if maybe I am not using some of the cool stuff that I don't is on it or what. I do agree there rate plan was much better. ATT keep up our bill and couldn't explain where those charges were coming from, we went to sprint and we have never had issue with out bill.

How long have you had it? I didn't like mine the first week or so... it was hard to scroll through the menus and stuff. but now that I'm used to it I really like it.
I don't like the fact that it is custom software, so there won't be much in the way of add-ons and stuff like the iPhone has.

That's why your suppose to back it up, don't blame apple blame the tool using the phone.
I still run 1.02 firmware on my iphone and it runs like a champ, also never had a problem with my bill from them, same every month.

Sorry, I meant for the shared plan. My current bill in $95 a month for 2 phones. Sprint makes you have the everything plan and the cost for the family everything plan is $130 a month plus taxes and fees.
There are third party apps out that allow the iphone to do video and MMS as well. iPhone is a much better phone but being exclusive to ATT kills it for me..

I have had for about three or four weeks now...so far my only issue is trying to make calls alot of scrolling and hitting the wrong button, but I guess that is just getting use to the phone. As for the bill I have had good experience with them so far even when I had a nextel. so I really can't complain. But we will see with this phone.

If you still run the 1.02 then you are calling me a tool because I updated my phone to the 2.0. Hmmmm. Let me think about this Sucko why dont you update your phone and STFU dirtbag I dont need you to post in my thread any of the BS you have to say. I am not going to pay $99 a year for apple to keep my contacts. I didnt enter them into my PC because I had them transferred to my phone from the old phone I had. I have updated it a few times already without a hitch but this last time it deleted all my music and contacts(like it always does) but this time it didnt restore my contact info. Back it up where, in my PC ? In a PDF file? Like apple will allow you to transferr it from a file. I am done talking to you. I just hope one day when you update your phone from the out dated version your running it delets all 3 of your contacts you have.

I updated my iphone with no issues what so ever, I get service everywhere on this thing too !! I have never had a problem with it ...I use a Macbook too. I love Apple ...........oh I don't know how I managed before !
