A NEBRASKA MOTORCYCLIST DIED ON INTERSTATE 95 ON YESTERDAY AFTER HE HIT A CAR, LOST HIS BALANCE, FELL OFF HIS MOTORCYCLE AND WAS HIT BY A SEMITRAILER TRUCK. THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 48-YEAR OLD PETER LODWIG WAS DRIVING HIS HARLEY NORTH ON I-95 JUST AFTER NOON, WHEN HE HIT SLOW TRAFFIC NEAR SOUTHERN BOULEVARD IN WEST PALM BEACH. THAT'S WHEN TROOPERS SAID LODWIG'S MOTORCYCLE STRUCK THE REAR END OF A BMW, CAUSING HIM TO LOSE HIS BALANCE AND FALL INTO THE CENTER LANE WHERE THE PETERBILT SEMI-TRAILER TRUCK CARRYING AN EMPTY BOX TRAILER HIT HIM. LODWIG WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE. THE DRIVERS OF THE BMW AND THE SEMITRAILER TRUCK WERE NOT HURT. TROOPERS DID NOT FILE CHARGES.
R.I.P. Pete, thanks for riding with me and pretty much eliminating my "Harley Rider" stereotype. You'll be missed.
Jason

This is going to sound strange because if you look at the date as when I started this thread, but we're finally having Pete's service in the morning. Just want to say thanks to all for concern. It's amazing how compassionate people really can be. Pete died doing EXACTLY what he loved, riding, and enjoying life. All of us who knew him, have come to reality with that simple fact, and for that I envy him. He will be missed. Once again, thanks to everyone.
