Yesterday was a sad day.
Motorcyclist dies in riding accident
ANZA-BORREGO DESERT STATE PARK – A Marine was killed riding a motorcycle in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park yesterday, officials said.
The Marine was riding alone on the bike about 1:30 p.m. on Montezuma Valley Road between Ranchita and Borrego Springs when witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle and rider go down, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim suffered head injuries and died on the road. Authorities did not release information on what caused the crash.
Officials said the victim is an active-duty Marine stationed at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station.
Traffic on state Route 22 was backed up for hours as authorities investigated the crash and treated of the victim.

i believe my wife's coworker had lunch with this marine's group prior to this accident.
i'm not sure if this is the same accident, if not, another marine passed away while riding borrego springs road. he was riding with 4 other riders, one of those was suffered a broken leg in that accident.

Yes...there were two accidents yesterday.
The group on BS Rd. were involved with a car that pulled in front of them.
