Default Cornel's last ride

I personally didn't know Cornel but some friends of mine rode with him on a regular basis.

They were on their way to Bike Night and went for a ride before it started.
This is what a buddy of mine wrote....

We were headed out for our normal Thursday night ride. Going up La Cresta, which we've done tons of times, he had hit that road 100s of times since he lived right there.

We were really bookin, I was doin about 100 and the 3 leaders were pulling from me. I pulled around a long sweeper and saw smoke and a FUCKED up car.

I park and run over to him, his body was totally mangled, and twisted in weird directions. There was bone showing in multiple places. So we rolled him over, and tried to bring him back with CPR for a good 10mins before the rescue got there. They did the same for another 10, and he didn't make it.

He had serious internal bleeding, and by the time they were done his whole body looked like it had been blown up with a pump. Entire area under his skin was filled with blood.

That's the shit taht happens when you T-Bone a car doing over 120mph. When I saw the accident I knew he wasn't going to make it, you could just tell from the damage and how his body was. Needless to say I got no sleep last night, because I basically watched his eyes roll back as he died there on the ground. That kinda shit will fuck your head up pretty good.

It's a sad sad day. He was the most gifted rider I had ever seen. So basically my bike is parked until further notice.

News report from this morning....

CREST – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a sedan on La Cresta Road east of Old Bend Road yesterday afternoon.

Cornel Juretko, 21, of El Cajon was declared dead at the scene, the California Highway Patrol said.
Witnesses reported that the rider of a Suzuki GSXR motorcycle was speeding eastbound before the 5:45 p.m. collision. He struck the passenger side of a Ford Taurus turning left across his path toward a private driveway, CHP Officer Brian Pennings said.

The Taurus driver, Beth Carroll, 44, of El Cajon was not injured in the crash, Pennings said.

Pennings said further investigation is needed to determine Juretko's speed in the 50-mph zone and who might have been at fault in the crash.

RIP CORNEL

RIP

No matter how gifted you are...physics and bad luck cannot be denied.

Stopping a bike from 120mph because someone turns in front of you is almost impossible.

That's 5 fatalities in the last 2 weeks in SoCal. A sad month.

Damn it... I hate to hear about things like this. I can't imagine how his friends must feel, having not only witnessed it, but also doing their best to save him.

RIP Cornel.

I can talk to Gene (tasha's stepdad) he is a certified instructor for CPR and Firstaid. Let me know what you find. If we can get enough guys together he probably do it for a really cheap price if he even charges us. He likes doing stuff like that.
