Marquez was a co-worker and a extremely nice guy. We talked almost every day about motorcycles. He told me was going to take the MSF this summer and buy his first bike right after. He never got the chance. Marquez will be missed. From the AJC:
Charges are pending against a driver in the deaths of two people and the injury of another in DeKalb County on Saturday night. DeKalb police are investigating why Tammy Carter’s vehicle bounded a curve and struck Marquez Mapp and John Dumas as they were putting gasoline into a disabled car belonging to Quanita Avery, Dumas’ stepdaughter. The incident happened about midnight on Snapfinger Road in Lithonia, said Herschel Grangent, a DeKalb police spokesman. Mapp, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. Dumas, 46, died on the way to the hospital. Avery, 21, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Grangent said. Additional information about Carter was not available Sunday evening.
