Will Myers (Repsol337) died Sunday morning around 2 am.
Will was leaving Hardees around 9:30 pm Saturday to go home. As he entered the battlefield/fremont intersection going west on battlefield, a car turning left onto fremont pulled out in front of him. We are not sure what happened next, but Will was ejected from the bike, landing in the middle of the intersection.
The car fled the scene immediately. Will was responsive at the scene and was taken to St Johns.
Will had several major internal injuries. Upon arrival at St Johns his spleen was removed almost immediately and his liver was said to be so badly damaged it was in multiple pieces.
The next several hours were spent giving Will over a dozen blood transfusions and trying to mend his liver. Will finally sucumbed to his injuries this morning.
I pray for Will's family and friends.
There are very limited witness accounts to the accident. There was conflicting reports about the car. Some said it was a light colored 1990+ 4 door honda or ford taurus and others said it was a dark colored jeep like SUV. The car may have damage on the side or bumper. Traffic cameras are in place at that intersection, but they only update every five minutes or so for traffic management.
The car that started that accident was not pursued because no one was looking when the accident occurred. The car fled so quickly by the time someone turned around and noticed Will in the middle of the intersection the car was gone.
