I have thought that until I had to deal with losing someone close to suicide. When people get that depressed it is truly a sickness. Suicide is a type of mental illness.

RIP

I agree with you 100%. Last March by brother ran his monte carlo off a 200 ft cliff in a suicide attempt. Somehow he walked away with only a broken rib and a very sore body. Trying to talk to him prior to it and in the months following was like trying to tell somebody something is red when they are absolutely convinced it's blue.

Red..you are quite right, I've had to deal with suicide attempts with soldiers in the military, or soldiers just 'losing it', and it wasn't quite the same. By the way this was his second attempt. My condolences go out to the family. Even without knowing all the circumstances, I hope the family does not blame themselves for anything that happened. It truly is a sickness, just like having to endure the pain of someone dying from cancer or any other illness.

EXIT

The title to a short story I read a long time ago about an eerily similar situation.

I will never forget it.

She was an enthusiast, she took great pride in her craft. Look at her gear, and her bike, and the parts she put into it.
Carefully and thoughtfully chosen.

She was one of us. I will not judge her motivations, nor their sad conclusion.

Only she knows the pain and torment that dwelled within her, and drove her to this place.

R.I.P.

And the moment of clarity
Faded like charity does
Sometimes...
And I put out my hand
Just to touch your soft hair
To make sure in the darkness
That you were still there
And I have to admit
I was just a little afraid

But then...
I had a little bit of luck
You were awake
I couldn't take
Another moment alone...

if you look at the angle their is a good straight before the exit point and the bike seems to have projected from their. you know she was hitting that mad v-twin torque getting to the top end rush then she hit the dirt and it went light and she was flying what a fuckin ride what a fuckin waste

I gotta go with officer737 on this one. That doesnt make any since. First off she was still wearing her jacket which is part of the protective gearing that you would remove with the helmet and gloves. I dont know the complete circumstances and I cant see the ground around where she went off, but My first thought was someone stopping and taking off glove and helmet to look over a cliff and somebody forcing them and there bike over. Like I said I dont know but thats what came to my mind. Either way RIP.

Ill bet that was the coolest ride ever. I mean not like "lets do it again" cool but like "last ride" cool. I know that some people think about suicide as a selfish act. But people never stop to think that the person had to be in REAL pain be it mental or physical to take their life. I know that its hard to deal with but it sucks. RIP and my prayers go to the family and friends.

Fitting end? I don't know why people say that about the die doing what you love scenario. In this case, it wasn't like she rode off a sheer cliff and splatted like Thelma and Louise; she rode off a sloped ledge and you know she tumbled and grinded and was literally crushed and destroyed by the multiple impacts. Imagine all the noise and violence, I can't think of anything worse. That poor woman probably didn't realize how painful and dramatic her death would be. What a sad story. My prayers are with the people that loved her.
