2001 Honda F4i, red and white paint with a yoshi slip on. Had it for 3 years before I crashed it at 20 mph and sold it. Bike was way too fast to learn on, but somehow I survived. Best riding times in my life so far. How about you guys?

Bigger Fuel Injected Sportbike??

*I've got an 06 Ninja 250 which i use everyday since there are no parking spots in my University and i hate the carburetors + long warm up time. Most of my trips are generally short and it sucks for the engine. My revs and throttle are just uneven! So for New Years i was looking to get a new car since i gave mine to my bro and am driving an old Toyota, but i use the car only for groceries pretty much so I thought id save some money and buy a new bike instead which would make more sense since i use it way more!

I'm looking for fuel injection, smooth throttle, and faster warm up time. Weight is also a big priority, id rather have a light bike than a powerful one. I like the light handling and small size of my bike even tho its not all that fast because its really nice around town with traffic. I can go right in b/w traffic and its very easy to ride at low speeds. I do admit i miss a little more power especially in the low rpms. My ideal bike is a modern CBR400 with fuel injection, but they dont have any in the US, and even in Japan i heard they recently discontinued the 400's since everyone goes for the bigger bikes.

As a result, the next bike i like most is the 07+ CBR600s which are just sexy looking and are the lightest in their class which i personally care of. The power is really a bit much because that bike is ultra-fast but im thinking that shouldnt really be a big prob since its only fast when i give it gas after all. Only con of all that extra unused power is the mpg of about 40 compared to the 60+ i get all the time on my ninja. But... i just dont rly see any other good light bikes with fuel injection in that range. I saw looking at some less super sport 600's but they are a lot heavier and not as nice looking. I figure get the CBR since its lighter, handles better, and the white/silver ones i think are one of baddest looking bikes on the streets. And btw, I only like sportbikes, so I dont want cruisers or others. I actually like the seating positions of sport bikes as long as its reasonable and not 2 forward.

I have yet to go and sit on the bike yet, and possible try a Kawasaki ZX6 as a comparison. The R6 ive seen from a friend and they seem to be built for top speed which doesnt interest me and the position is just 2 forward. Suzukis ive heard have reliability issues and they seem to be the heaviest of all the bikes. Italian bikes are generally 2 big as i dont want to go over 600CC and they are expensive which is the biggest thing. Ive found 07 CBR600''s for right around 5 grand! That is about what im looking to spend, maybe a little more.

If any of you have any suggestions, please go right ahead.*

Hi;
I'm looking to get in a tour a-la-Long Way Around style, but on a much smaller scale. I'm a new biker, and want to "hit the open road", with a touring company that can set me up, and film the ride for my travel site and tv show Just Say Go Tv.

Do ya'll have any recommendations on any good motorcycle tour companies, that you can recommend?
There's GlobeRiders® - Your Motorcycle Adventure Tour and Multimedia Company - Come Ride the World with Us!, but they seem to focus on international, I'm looking for a 7 to 10 day trip in the South, maybe California, or even Mexico.

Thx.

not sure if this is the correct section but i'll give it a whirl..

can someone clear some of the lingo up for me? i'm looking for a dirt bike and i figured a 250 would be more than suitable for me.. i've heard that 125s lack the grunt and 250s are just right.. but everywhere i look (KTM, Yamaha, Suzuki, whatever) they have models categorized in "Off-Road" then in "Motocross" and usually with the same engine sizes!

what i want to know is: what's the real difference between this "Off-Road" 250 business as opposed to the "Motocross" 250.. i'm sure there are suspension tweaks and what not but seriously, lay it out for me.

thanks

I started doing this on an 03 gixxer 1k. Done it on busa's, and an old zx6 of my buddies (no steering damper) and now my 10.
Basically, on the smoothest street, click into neutral and coast in on the back brake, hands on the tank, behind you, wherever. Just not on the controls.
At the lone star rally I had a guy ask me if I tightened up my steering to be able to do this :)
Warning though: at least in tx, the cops consider it reckless driving if you take both hands off the bars.
I may do a couple vids tomorrow on my blackberry for any nay sayers

Image: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/11/last_buell-1258560078.jpg As far as motorcycle manufacturers go, Buell lived a relatively short life. Founded by a former Harley-Davidson engineer in 1993, the sportbike company was acquired by HDMC in 2003. But hard times falling on businesses large and small forced Harley to announce Buell's closure. And now the last Buell has been pushed off the assembly line and into the great wild yonder.

After 136,923 motorcycles built over the course of 26 years of production, the final model produced was the black Lightning XB12Scg pictured above. On December 18, the plant in Troy, Wisconsin, will officially close down, while the existing network of dealers continue to sell off the remaining stock.

MotoGP 2010: Laguna Seca

I know it is a ways off, but trying to figure out best place to stay for the event that is close and reasonable. I can fly from BNA to SFO for $268, which is dirt cheap, but then I saw the $190 for 3 days of CAMPING. WTH? If I can't find decent place that I can reserve this far out, I'll likely just pass on the trip altogether and hit the Indy event at least.

Been to Monterey for the day many times, but never stayed anywhere near there. I always fly into SFO, stay somewhere in the city and do day trips there so I need some advice.

Looking to go to the event on the cheap, and camping at the track is fairly pricy (unless it is *really* nice) Any good places to camp nearby that aren't $60+ a night? I know hotels can be really expensive there, and I don't want to have hours to drive every day if I can help it.

Looking to get there on the cheap, since I have airfare, car, event tix to pay for. I have done MotoGP Indy 2 years running, and would like to hit both US events next year.

TIA
