Let me start off by saying that i MYSELF am originally from Pakistan and come from a Muslim family so its not like im bashing something i dont understand. However that being said i also know the kind of sick mentality my people have and to what extents they will go to in order to accomplish their twisted goals (main reason why my family moved to the US when i was a kid).

Im sure not every muslim in the US military right now is a terrorist however all these people do need to be put through a thorough background check again and see what they are upto. I fear if this is not done a lot more harm can be caused. Why? Because these men are trained by the US military and compared to the typical taliban and Al qaeda terrorists they are a lot more dangerous and capable of causing a lot more destruction than the ones from there. Lets hope and pray those with such intentions are caught before they put their repulsive plans into action. RIP to the innocent men and women who died.

Fort Hood killings

First off let me send my prayers and condolences to those victims, and a speedy recovery to those who were injured.

I feel a range of emotions right now it is hard to put into words. I know there are many of us who have been down range, have come back and dealt with our deployment demons. But shooting your fellow Soldier is just unspeakable. I can only imagine what his defense lawyer is going to come up with for his reasons.

I guess we all really need to pay more attention to our oath:

I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic...

who knew that the enemy would be so close to home.

Has anyone here been to Al Udeid? I don't know why, but I have this scary feeling about uniforms there. I'm headed for there fairly soon and was trying to figure out what to pack.

My main question is about PT gear. Can you PT in anything or do you have to wear a PT uniform? Do I need to buy one of those retarded reflective belts? Any and all gouge is much appreciated.

Thanks!

p.s. I'm Navy if that matters.

Recruiting Question

So I'm currently in the process of applying for Marine OCS, and I've been getting as much info as possible from the internet along with the recruiter in my area.

When it comes to criminal history, I'm getting two different answers.

The internet resources are telling me to disclose EVERYTHING that I've ever been involved in because if, later down the road I need top secret clearance(which I will need for my desired MOS), they find something then it could be grounds for discharge. And not to differentiate between expunged and current records, because if it's ever happened they'll find it.

When I was talking with my recruiter he told me that if it's expunged and there haven't been any continuing incidents, then it's like it never happened, and not to even mention it.

Who should I listen to?
