New track bike! Wicked!

so, in the past few months ive been through 4 bikes... supermoto, cb550, rd400... now, the coveted mini-dominator, the Rs125

its super clean, and doesnt look abused, the engine is fresh with only 10 hours on a new piston, crank, and clutch. the owner provided me with a CRAP load of spares, pistons, crank, heads, hardware, gaskets, gearing, jets, suspension parts, setup history notes.

i havent got a chance to ride it yet (just a short stint in a parking lot when i picked it up)... but, in that short time, i was scared of the power to weight ratio! i can literally pick this bike up over my head!

it just needs the special "jeremy" clean up, and maybe some fresher, more exciting paint, and im good to go!

when it stops raining cats and dogs, i will get some worthy pics

Design project: future gp

since in my last thread i failed to post the pics, i have returned to deliver

here's some info about them

Recently I got a weird itch to re-create GP racing. why cant we still have 2-strokes? (obviously technology has improved greatly for them, making emissions a bit more reachable.) Why does MotoGP always have to be conventional? (conventional in means of prototype race bikes.)

With this project, i just wanted to branch out and make something that would be interesting to watch. (something new and exciting, as if racing wasn't exciting enough.)

Now, I'm not familiar with many GP rules or conventions, nor do i claim to be an engineer... so these bikes are purely concepts of preconceived ideas displaying what could be functional in an alternative way.

Each bike is equipped with a water/oil cooled, 6-speed, 250cc vertical-opposition 4 cylinder, fuel injected engine. sure, its unconventional, but it just sounds fun doesn't it? The final drive would be a conventional chain (unless someone would opt for a transmission similar to the Honda DN-01)

The rear suspension is a standard progressive stroke link-less set-up. While the front borrows from Bimota's wild leading arm system... although the linkage-bound steering mechanics have been replaced with ride-by-wire power steering.

The rear brake is a conventional disc; And the front resembles Mr. Erik Buell's perimeter braking system.

The chassis material could be up to MFG. but, displayed is a standard aluminum cradle frame (except for the Ducati, which gets their carbon fiber technology).

The styling is a mix between modern sport-bikes (mainly the geometry and stance), cafe racers (minimalistic mechanics and body works), and MX bikes (Paneled, vacuum formed body pieces).

-or you can see the article at The 250GP racer of the future? - Hell For Leather

anyways! enjoy guys! opinions are welcome! good or bad!

Well I finally got tired of the riding position after 3 sportbikes and picked up something more comfy to commute with and also capable on the track and canyons as well. This thing is so fun it should be illegal.

Image: http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr319/saml01/Bike-1.jpg

Today was the first time since owning the bike that I went out and actually enjoyed myself. Carbs are running perfect, plugs weren't fouling, and I didn't run out of gas. In fact, I was so comfortable and relaxed I got a boner half way through the ride.

Happen to anyone else?

BTW...Do I like freakishly huge on this thing or what?

11/15 500 mile Vermont ride with Zmeiaspas

This was an excellent trip, the weather wasn't fantastic, but the temperature was perfect.
The route didn't stick to as planned, originally I had intended to cut across Vermont diagonally back to NY around sunset, but as soon as the sun went down the entire state was covered in thick fog. Instead of heading through unfamiliar roads with extremely limited visibility, I took the interstate when we split ways.

This is the route in its entirety that I took: Meeting point was - G, my start and end location - F
from:Brattleboro, VT to:VT-100 N to:US-4 W/VT-100 N to:VT-100 N to:Waterbury, VT to:Montpelier, VT to:VT-12 S to:VT-12 S to:VT-12 S to:43.437465,-72.391663 to:Ascutney, Windsor, Vermont to:Springfield, MA to:Clifton Park, NY to:Brattleboro, VT - Goog

I'll let the pictures do most of the talking. Brattleboro was an incredible little town, lots of neat shops and good scenery, definitely somewhere to consider visiting in the summer.

Our trip was mostly with wet roads, but that didn't spoil the fun. Our pace wasn't really affected by the wet as much as the roughness of the roads(Very rough in a lot of areas). I thought VT was known for better quality roads than this, but either case it didn't spoil anything. More interested in the scenery as i'm no good at going fast anyways!

The morning, much like the evening, foggy and damp.

i gots new exhaust!

i've never changed the exhaust on a bike until now since its hard finding aftermarket exhaust that isn't LOUD. i do quite a bit of riding so i didn't want something that would make my ears ring, draw attention, or piss off the neighbors when i head out early. i finally just splurged and bought one.

i'm happy with the sound: deeper than stock and just as quiet until around 7k rpm, then it start to scream. i went with a pipe designed for the 06/07 bike which eliminates the cat so it requires cutting the catalytic converter off and notching the new slipon to fit around the SET valve.

i know its just an exhaust, but i'm excited about it (that and things are starting to slow down on here already, so if no one else is gonna post stuff i will). i figure between losing the stock muffler, the catalytic converter, passenger pegs, and rear fender, i should have the wet weight under 410 (432 stock)
