Has anyone ridden one other than a short test ride? I'm interested in it's sport touring capabilities (300 - 500 mile days with light luggage).

Two of my friends have them. They both love them. One did a 2000+ mile ride to Alaska and back and loved it. He uses it for sport touring and said it is the best bike he has had.

I have an '07. The newer ones have a better seat then pre-06. The seat will be giving you monkey butt by the time you hit 500 mile mark. With panniers, topcase and tank bag you have plenty of storage. The bike is wonderful for this purpose. The only negative would be the lack of wind/weather protection.
Good luck!
