Default Superbike Neutral problems

Have any of you ever had a bike that had a hard time finding neutral? I switched to a reverse shift and it takes a few times to put the bike in neutral. Is there anything i can do to solve the problem, other than the obvious?

the obvious is ????????

I hope the obvious isnt that it didnt have a problem until you did the reverse shift

If so , it needs the travel adjusted more than likely , or is it possible you just dont have the feel for the reverse shift thing yet?

Did it have this issue before the switch to reverse shift pattern?

yeah, the obvious would be to change it back to the original but it has always felt more natural to me. it didn't have the problem until I switched it. How do you change the travel on it when it is a single attachment, a lever attached to the shaft coming off of the transmission. the only adjustment is to move the lever to another spline. if you have any ideas, let me know. I have had it on the bike for about 7 months but have always just dealt with it.

Rotate it to another spline.

Try it both ways!
forward & backwards.
The angle of the linkage may be forcing it to jump past N.

Yeah, just move the shifter up/down a spline or two. If that does not work and you want to keep the reverse shift, while slowing down (still rolling) from 2nd gear, lightly tap the shifter and it should go into neutral and not 1st gear. But try moving shifter up/down first, it may just be in a funny position.
