with you riding it, 20-30 seconds.
what RPM do you think you should shift at? srsly now. never go over 10k or the engine will go boom.
and remember, launch at redline and pop the clutch for max performance.

Think about what you're saying here OP...
1) You're racing your bike
2) To race a bike, you need to get the most out of your engine in the shortest amount of time
That should give you an idea of what rpm you should shift at.
*Edit*
Oh...boy...
Any advise on my new and first bike? (posted: 8/26/08)

You have no business at the drag strip.

to launch: tires at 26psi,slip the clutch at 8K,then shift at redline every gear.should get about a 10.3-10.4@125 or so.your insurance won't cover a track mishap tho, lol.

no, you just care more about apostrophes. no amount of grammatical perfection will change the fact youre an inexperienced 17 year old who has no business giving advice to anyone but your 13 year old girlfriend.

You seem to have a lot of resentment for someone who seems to be on a higher maturity base than you are. You'd be wise to stop the flaming before this kid makes you look like an idiot.

now i know there are at least two of you
if by "higher maturity base" you mean pedantic, then yes, much higher "base"
if you mean a 17 year old on a 600 telling someone they don't belong somewhere somehow makes me look like an idiot, then I can't wait for more.

Why the hell is everyone so harsh on people? There is a such thing as "talent". Not saying this is the case, but not everyone is a retard. Hell, my buddies GF is 17 and can power shift her dad's GT500 like a pro...He has been teaching her to drag race since she was 14.
Anyway, Start out launch LOW (Like 4-5K) and feather the clutch... Shift as soon as you feel power tapering off...(prolly around 500-1000 below redline.) My suggestion, take it easy the few 20-30 runs until you have a GREAT feel for how the bike performs...
