Default Apparel For Drag Racing

I was wondering if you need the full leather suit to be able to make a run. I have just ordered a suit from Joe rocket but they do not have any in stock. So it will take a few weeks to get here. But my friends wont me to go down next week to the strip. So I wont have my full leather suit. Is it mandatory at most places to have a full leather suit?

For an actual race, you might. For test-n-tune though, I've never had more than a jacket, gloves, helmet, blue jeans, and boots (of any type, or even tennis shoes).

i was told 120mph trap speed or 10.999 before you need leathers, but it really depends on which organization the track is sanctioned through. the basics are "sturdy" jacket, pants and gloves with over-the-ankle footwear. call the track before you go to be sure.

screw your friends if they want you to run without the proper gear, the track will be there next week.
