Default Race fuel

I have run octane boost in my bike plenty of times and i've had no problems but I was curious about running race fuel. I've noticed at the strip that alot of the bikes run it. I was just skeptical about the effects, if any at all, it would have on a stock motor.

Unless you run a fuel like VP Ultimate 4 or an oxygenated fuel like MR9 you wasting your money. Race fuels are higher octane fuel, which actually burns slower than regular pump gas. The race fuels are there for high compression or nitrous engines that would detonate/ping on low octane fuel. Your better off running as low octane as you can without the engine pinging...

I think that's partially true. I wouldnt run the lowest octane that would work without the engine pinging or spark knocking, but i'd definitely run whats suggested for the bike...

some people swear they cant feel the difference, others swear they can. just run what your bike calls for.

Generally any power increase attributed to race gas is due to the oxygenate in the fuel.

I ran U4 in my bike yesterday at the track and there was a very noticible difference

Just make sure you get the MR9 and others out of your tank after your done. If you let it sit, like I did, it can mess up your fuel pump. Fuels like MR9 are claimed to increase horsepower up to 8%.

That is the first thing i did last night after the track, left my bike strapped down to the trailer and put a floor jack underneath the tilt lock and jacked it up, siphoned as much out as i could and ran the bike till it shut off, rocked it left and right while starting it and got it fired up till it was stalling, rocked it more till it was bone dry and than put about 2 gallons of high test in and pulled it in the garage and let it run for about 20 min in front of the fan to keep it cool.... Id say there wont be any fuel system problems after doing it like this..
