Default Drag racing @ US41 Sun 10/09

The best pass I made was 11.40 @ 122. I could have gotten into the .30's but my clutch felt like it was slipping (note 1.9 60 ft.). I would carry a little wheelie most of the way through 1st gear and into second. The bike felt good but I just couldn't get out of the "hole" like I wanted to.

First pic is of Kurts Buell (homemade wheelie bar ) my f4i and Tony's (aka Extratesticle) 600RR getting gas and "breakfast" in am.
Second pic is us waiting in staging lanes after oil down just as we got there.
Third pic is of a super clean '87 Honda Hurricane 1000 that some kid just bought from a guy I raced last year. He ran 11.10 @ 122 mph with a 1.7 60ft. . That bike had all kinds of shit done to it. Extd swingarm, shift kit, etc. but he barely ran faster than I did......

last pic is of time slip I'm # 52 and Tony was #51. He pretty much kicked my ass even though he red lit. 10.94 @ 126 for a bone stock '05 600RR... not too bad.

Oh and by the way the Green bike getting ready to go thru the water box in the last pic is a stock ZX-10R that ran 10.10

Cool.

The best I've been able to do is an 11:45 at 123. I don't understand how it's possible for people to get those times that magazines run. They must use a lot of correction factor.

I'm in the same boat as you with not being able to launch very well. Last time at the strip I hurt my clutch too. Now it slips between hi rev shifts.

I got some lowering links and a strap coming. Those are supposed to help a lot. It would be nice to see some 10 second slips.

Those times are using a pro rider with altitude correction thrown in which can shave a few tenths of sec. off the E.T. The best E.T. for the '01 F4i was a 10.71 @ 126 (liked to know how they got that number!) so I guess I'm a little of the mark. I'll just have to stop leaving the line like a Sally!!!

you're more than a "little" off that mark of 10.7 bud. that's .7 seconds you've got to go. that ain't easy to get when you're talkin 10's and 11's. you have nice times though so far.
