Default What do you think!

Ok In a differant thread I posted some of my 1/8 mile times. I have had good runs and bad runs like. Down at Hinesville drag way we don't get tickets kind of a getto track. But I posted that my runs are around 6.5-6.8 My buddy Boost has a old F3 and is running 7's (when the bike is running) LOL. But I'm having one guy call BS. I've seen Busa's do 5.5 in the 1/8 mile. So Without a slip I can see someone that doesn't know what the strip is like calling BS. Wondering if the strip is screwy or this guy just is a assbag.

Bike=2004 ZX-6R 636
Mods=K&N, Micron ex, Power commander, One tooth down in the front.

I know my reaction times are around .5-.7.
60 foot is around 1.1-1.5
330 is around 3.3-3.7
1/8 is around 6.5-7.0

Does this sound messed up Everybody that I have talked to said it is good but not perfect.

They have a computer that runs it but no slips. This is why I posted this thread. If the equipment is all jacked up then It will be time to find a differant track.

Guys..........Let's keep the language to a nice level.

MARSOLAIS..........I have been drag racing for a while. The 1.1 60' is off a bit. I have friends on Top Gas, wheelie bar bikes that are pushing 1.2 60' times. My hunch, the 60' times are more in the 2.1 range aye.

I know alot of things can factor times in the 1/8 and 1/4. But 1.1- 1.5 60ft thats a big spread in drag racing and very tough to acomplish.

You stated its not a great track so go to a better track and compare if you think that your times are correct. The times are to far off to sound normal. How do you know what your times are without getting a time slip?

Simply NO BS!

4.821 @ 160.42

This is an "Official" record on an 1/8th mile drag strip. And I do believe it was a Busa.

Good stuff though guys. Let's keep it coming!

ok jonny you win, a 600 can do 6.1 in the 1/8 (which is still not a 6 flat...lol) but that record is held by ryan schnitz who is a god among drag racers riding an AMA supersport 600ss machine. my posts were more towards the average joe with mediocre riding ability and a average joe bank account. either way facts are facts 6.1 in the 1/8 is still 6.1 in 1/8. :walks away quietly....lol

It's not about winning at all. It's about info that people might be able to use in application or to have as basic knowledge. BTW, where in your post was it about average riders because I missed that. By the way it read, you made a general statement about it being BS that it can't be done (to paraphrase).

True, 6.1 IS NOT 6 flat..........It was used to demonstrate how close the NEW 600's are to the magic 6.0 number. But the "liter bike" info was to demonstrate that liters are well within the 5's in the 1/8th.

The info was to provide you with educational and factual information regarding drag racing specifically. Walking away serves neither you nor the people in this Forum. lol

O.k. guys I'm back and I've been talking to my friends that go to the track with me and the track is all jacked up. The times are 1 second off on every run. So if it makes up for anything we are running 7.0-7.5's on stock 600's.

Sounds much better although it is possible for the new 6's to post times in the low 6.1's.

Im sorry... i got King Quakes time wrong. His Official track time was 4.6. I dont think a busa is going to beat a jet powered rig but i could see it doing low 5's cause some of the funny cars were pretty damn close. I guess my BS sniffer is off. maybe i got a cold!!

go to:

http://www.amaprostar.com/noframe_records.asp

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look at the "Streetbike Shootout" records for 1/8th mile.

FACT
The record holding Busa is only 2/10ths of a second slower than that jet vehicle you referenced. Definitely NO BS here!

thats is awsome. I guess my BS sniffer is off. here is a couple pics of that jet powered truck i referenced. I seen it at Skyview Drags in Owego NY back in july.

this is powered by what was the biggest jet engine produced as of the time that Bob motz was building this beast. It hit 186 in the 1/8th!! Imigine being 4 feet off the ground doing that speed. anyway thats the truck i was talking about. it litterally tore the front of the press box to pieces.
