drag bike?

I am taking my bike to the track in two weeks. I was just wondering what is the best way to launch a bike. I have heard numerous things on this issue. The main one is to launch it is the peak torque range. Then get it to wot.

hey im new to here and dident see a search button anyware so sorry if this is a repost. just wondering what would be the best bike to make a drag bike. would you be better off with a 1000cc since they weigh alot less than the busa's or would you be better off with a busa since you have more engine to play with and power to turn loose. looking at getting like an 04 or 05 R1 or cbr1000rr. or would i be better with an older suzuki gs500 and putting a 1000cc engine in it or something like that lol.

edit- im not just limited to yamaha just using that as an example.

There is a sub drag forum on this site but you need to go to “display options” and change the “from the” box to “beginning”, then hit “show threads”.

I saw threads on people using R1 and 600s and even 750s so I don’t know what the best drag bike would be. A ZX14 with a turbo sounds fun to me

yeah turbo zx-14 would be good for going like 200+ but your not gonna use all that power in a quartermile unless you got some wheelie bars and a drag slick on the bike i would think. i guess im wondering what bike would have the best power to weight ration that would be the best for a quartermile. i know in texas (i forget what track exactly) they run a mile time. people usually use busa's and bigger bikes like those with turbo kits with 500 horsepower but there trying to hit a high speed and have plenty of room to use all the power. even some of them say at 150mph if they rip the throttle open it will break the back tire loose. lol if thats the case id spin the tire all the way down the 1/4 mile track i would think. someone feel free to correct me if im wrong here i wont take offence.

Went to the track this past sunday did a
11.8 in the 1/4 at 117.3
reaction time .65
60 foot et 1.92
what do you guys think not to bad imo.

hello racer let me heip u go faster .stretch ur swingarm 4 inchs .then chang ur conter sprocket one tooth bigger.then pull ur bafle out if u can . let me if u do this ok .
