Daytona 955i The Daytona 955i has proved, over the years and miles, that balance is everything. With large amounts of horsepower comes the need for finesse.

Default 955i reliability......

I am looking @ a 2000 955i & was wondering how many miles is too many. I like a lightning yellow Daytona. It has 24K on it. They want $4,800 for it. it is in real nice condition. I am just looking for some opinions on this situation. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

pretty much bomb-proof... like any modern sport bike.
24 k isn't bad, it's five years old, so less than 5,000 / year.

they don't seem to hold their resale value, so you might want to just scan E-Bay, etc and see what they are selling for, but $4800 doesn't sound bad. Is it clean & well cared for?

My '01 Sprint ST had 24,000 miles on it when I sold it last summer. It ran better than when it was new.

4800 sounds high. I bought a '02 CE with 14K miles for 4250 last spring. Came with extras like a rear stand, polished rear wheel, factory can and a nice custom paint job.

We (owners) love our bikes but the general motorcycle market doesn't place much value in the Daytona model. Take advantage of this and get the best deal that you can get.

To give you another example. I purchased this 1999 with 3,300 miles on the clock. Factory Triumph race pipe with re-mapped cpu and a Double Bubble screen. I took her home for $5,000 which I feel is a steal for any bike this clean.
