Yeah, went and looked at a daytona yesterday to see what they were all about in person. Gotta say the bike exceed my expectations. I will be test riding one soon and am wondering if you guys can give me any pointers on what to look for incase any things wrong?

Also, the guy initialy quoted 9 sticker price, and 10,400 out the door. That seemd a little steep. I could definetly get a helmet and gloves outa the deal, but still 1,400 jump in price just out the door?

Also, I am mainly consernd with the issues dealing with reliablity, the shop mechanic said they sold 10 last year and none have came back with issues other than the usual interval maint. Are the issues surrounding the daytona real? I plan to ride street and ride alot of it (10-15 k a year). So most of the riding will be commuting and joy riding, not too much crazy stuff.

Any info on the 675 would be greatly appriciated.

i'd get the breakout of the $1,400.

PA sales tax is 6% or 7%, right? that's $540 or more. most shops want $300 or so frieght plus $150 or so setup.

plus registration, DMV runner fees, title fees, blah blah blah.

still, $1400 seems high. the highest number i was quoted was $1,200 (5% tax in MA) and that included them dealing with all the registry stuff and delivering the bike to my home. you can certainly negotiate all this stuff - especially in february!

doody.

Get a battery tender. To save weight and space in the 675, Triumph used a small 6.5amp battery. It will only last about 6 months. Just about the same time for the warranty.

The battery is not a problem on mine yet, but i've only had it for 2 months. Its hooked up to a battery tender though...

What issues are you referring to exactly?

And 10.4k is steep, I wouldn't pay more than 9.8k OTD. Especially if you are buying it now (winter time) and you don't live in a state where you ride all year around.

What type of mileage are you putting on at one sitting? My R6 is good for about 150 miles a day (strech breaks about every 40 minutes). Then it's to the hot tub to work the kinks out after a day of riding.

I heard it uses a lot of oil. Some bikes seem to use a lot, some seem to loose none. I also heard the seat gets very hot sitting in traffic, is this true? Really lookin for any an all things bad about the bike, mechanical wise..like things that break a lot or dont function properly.

p.s. Sorry for spellin, dont have word installed.

Go check out Triumph675.net.

There is a TON of info, and a forum just about maintenance and repair issues.

No major issues that seem to plague a majority of bikes yet..

There is an elbow in the cooling line that seems brittle and some report an odd noise at 6-8k rpm, but thats all I can think of.
