Sportbike: Looking at Daytona 675
DiMisa1977 is on a distinguished road
Default New Guy Intro!

I am looking REAL hard into an 06 Daytona (can't wait 'til the 07's come out) but have a handshake deposit on an 07 for 9400 OTD!

I am all over Tornado Red.

I am a car enthusiast and contribute alot on some of the car sites like FerrariChat.com, 6speedonline.com, and Speedbrigade.com under the same username.

Anyway, I guess ,y biggest dilema is to make such a great bike my first. I really want to find something for about 6 to 7 K used, but everytime I go and see these used bikes I keep saying, "for another couple bucks I can have the hottest bike for under 10K, the Daytona!"

Any feedback....Thanks! PS: GOod content in this forum so far

THE PIC IS MY DREAM BIKE!

Is this your first motorcycle ever? You should venture over to the new riders forum.

Once you are done reading abot what gear to buy and how to not kill yourself on 2 wheels, run to the dealership and buy the Daytona.

You only go around once, the 675 is a very nice motorcycle and tornado red is simply the best color available.

as a fellow car enthusiast who has run track days / autocrosses with cars for 18 years before I got my first bike...I'd honestly recommend something slower as a first bike... I started with a Ninja500 (EX500). I really do like those 675s though no doubt.

i decided against the 675. the triumph dealers locally are too full of themselves and the product, albeit very attractive.

It's good that you've chosen against it as a first bike, but to not purchase the bike because of the dealer... Well, can't you find the same bike somewhere else?

It obviously is that great a product, though!

as much as I like reccomending this bike, its not for the beginner. I wanted a 600rr for my first bike. I got a KLR 650,probably a wise choice, and have sence gotten over the 600rr. I might not have "gotten over" the 600rr if I had bought one, but if I did then I would be stuck with a bike that didn't do it for me. the tt600 does it for me, still, so does the speed triple, that bike just screamed "bad ass" hell the new one was ranked "most likely to get in a fight" lol. and the 675, yeah it does it for me. whats it? i duno but its fun.
