one said they had a bunch of pre-orders and hadn't started filling them yet and he didn't know when they'd have one i could sit on, let alone test drive. they took my name/number.
the other said they had a bunch of pre-orders and were filling them and he expected floor models sometime in "april".
is this what other folks are experiencing out there?
i've seen a few posted as "available now" at $500 to $1000 over msrp. homey don't play dat.
My local dealer still has a few left. The Triumph still isn't a huge seller here because everyone wants the RR, Kawi, Zuki or cruiser.

I saw someone say test drive. I live near Wash. DC.
Where's a dealer that let's you test drive new bikes ? Anywhere, really anywhere in the US. I travel all over.
Armand's in Halifax has a 675 on the floor. I think it's red. I was there today and I'm going back again to test ride the Speed Triple and then most likely buying it.

I'd love to ride a new Triumph before buying.
SPDKLLS,
Try Clinton Cycles in Clinton, MD. Just on the other side of 495 from Old Town. That's where I bought my D6 and at the time they did demo rides. I don't think you will find that out at Winchester MotorSports. I'm right in the middle...it's an hour one way and hour the other. I've just had a better experiences at Clinton Cycles. I would also love to get my hands on a d675 demo!

fwiw, i've spoken to a number of New England dealers now.
it's clear (to me at least, though maybe they're yanking my chain) that there's a lot of INTEREST in this bike, but there aren't that many deposits down. money talks and bullshit always walks. my analysis is that if you want one, put a deposit down and you'll have one fairly quickly (weeks).
Clinton Cycles, ahhh the memories. I grew up not to far from there. I spoke wit my pops nd told him to tk a trip over there so that he could see what Im buying next (its on the way).
There are a few dealers here (fl) that are tking deposits stil.

Nope... I got mine (will be when it comes in) for retail + tax/tag.
At first the dealer had me down for Freight/prep (the usual BS) they try to hit you with. But after talking with another guy who bought his and found out how much he paid I did some checking. Spoke to a dealer down south and he sd he wouldnt charge me any of that crap if I were to buy from him. Gave my dealer a call and told them the price wasnt right and got them to come down to the same. Soo, I got my price and now just waiting for her to come in.

absolutely. a number of folks over at http://www.triumph675.net/ have posted their bike price and OTD price if you search around. it's tough data to correlate though - maybe they quoted 8100 for the bike, but instead of doing 5300 on the trade they did 4500 (six of one, half-dozen of the other).
