Mother's Day Gift for Ex-Wife

she's a wonderful mom and doing a great job raising our 3 girls - since i'm working all over the country and now back in the Army....
i'm here for the weekend to daya trackday at Heartland Park in Topeka, KS and she's gonna bring the girls out to the track so they can see what daddy does for a hobby...
question - is it wrong to give her a diamond necklace with 3 stones (each represents one of our girls) as a way of saying thanks for raising our girls so well......

If you don't mind spending the dough, she'll have no problem with it. She'll appreciate the meaning behind the 3 stones. She'll love it.

Nope. I'm a single dad raising a 3 year old, and I bought his mom a new Sony Cybershot (just because its his mom), bought one for my mom too.

i'd say it's not a problem unless one of your significant others may have a problem with it.

If she's got a guy in her life, you dont want to give her a better present than him.

(unless you're trying to get her back, or intentionally piss him off. )

Just do it, it's a very nice gesture and shows what you feel. If it one-ups the guy in her life, who cares, that's his problem for being a douchebag. Just because the relationship is over doesn't mean you don't still feel or care for her, especially since she is the mother of your three children.

^^^exactly what i was thinking - my only concern is i don't want her to read anything more into it....i mean we got divorced for a reason and i don't want her to think i want to get back together with her...

Do it, it's a really sweet gesture and if she gets the wrong signal from it then just explain it to her. You are both adults and I'm sure she can handle it. It's great that you appreciate her as much as you do. I give you props for that.

You could always give it to the girls to give to her and say it's from "All of you". Let them give her the suprise. That way it's a little harder for her to read too much into it maybe? I dunno, just a thought
