Default Ready for that personalized holiday?

Shit after Christmas, is everyone ready for that really special time? You know the one that costs even more money, lol. I'm talking about Valentine's Day. Just when you thought the spending was over, it's here again...what is your take on it?

Its a day when if I manage to stay alive and avoid WWIII with my GF I'm happy.

I don't even expect to get laid that day, just to make it through.

Corporate propoganda used to, for the lack of a better word, guilt men into buyin unnecessary shit for thier women. I love buyin shit for my girl and takin her out, but I do NOT need a frickin' holiday to tell me when and how. I know more people that have a bad day on V-Day than a good one......

I'm seriously amazed at how many women are overtaken by this "holiday." In college i was a delivery driver for an sicilian restaurant, happened to be working on V-day. In the first 2 hours I had 5 or 6 orders, all semi-attractive young ladies in sweats moping around thier dorms cause they didn't have dates.....next best thing, drown your sorrows in a big fat calzone. Anyway, I stopped off at the only place still open, a pharmacy, and picked up a dozen cheap roses. The rest of the night, if I delivered to a sweethart, i brightened up her day wit a rose. 12 roses, 9 numbers, x booty calls.

Only good V-day I've ever had.

Not to get mushy on you, but that was REALLY SWEET!!!

My guy and I don't overdo the "holiday." It's just another day. This year I ordered him a special bike-related accessory that I was hoping to have for Christmas, but never made it so now it's a Valentine's Day gift. If it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't done much of anything other than a card and a LONG night of "special time."

No girlfriend this time to piss off with a lackluster attempt at forced romance.

Reps for a DAMN good idea.

***Edit*** Reps are gone so you now get the second place prize...this smilie

As for me I do not typically celebrate that holiday like someone else mentioned I rather just buy iher something because I want to. Actually with my last girlfriend I told her I wasn't going to do anything for her on that day because I didn't celebrate "hallmark holidays" She wanted to do something but I stuck to my guns making her believe I wouldn't do anything. Then on valentines day I left work and snuck home when she was gone (she was out to the grocery store to buy stuff to make a dinner) and put 24 roses and nice card and a stuffed animal puppy on the dinning room table for her before she got home. So it was a complete suprise for her. She was happy.

I love that line in "Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind" ranting about Valentine's Day being a holiday created by greeting card companies. It really wraps up my thoughts on it.

lol, yea I cant wait. valentines day in Feb, then our anniversary early March, then her birthday late March... I dont have time to save up for gifts in between! It's worth it though; she got me a $100 gift certificate to my local cycle shop for christmas. Ripped out the airbox & used it to get 2 K&N cones for the carbs, & now the bike sounds MEAN! She's a keeper...

My ex is so damn stingy she got me a pair of boots. she gave me one on Christmas and made me wait till Valentines for the other. WTF, am I supposed to just sit and admire one boot for a month and a half? How many times can you polish one boot? If I ever pulled that shit I would'nt get laid for a year. she left me 4 months later on my birthday... now that I think about it, it really is the best birthday gift I ever got.
