Is cheating ever justified?
Ive never, nor do I plan on ever cheating. However I wanted to throw this question out for discussion. Is cheating on your mate/gf/bf/wife/husband ever justfied? What if a man beat his wife all the time, but for some reason she couldnt leave<<<if she cheated is that justified?? Or you were in an accident and was a total vegetable is that justified? Or is it NEVER ok?? Thoughts? Comments??

IMHO if you are in a relationship of any kind, cheating is not allowed nor should it be tolerated, no matter what the circumstances are. If you want to play the field, get out of the relationship and go it single. Relationships are about trust. If you can't trust your partner, I don't believe you have much of a relationship.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I dont see the point in these kinds of hypothetical questions but I'm bored so I'll play.
My first response was no, no, no, no and no.
Then I read your reasons and thought yes, yes, and yes.
Are you married to a vegetable who has been beating you?

No, cheating is never justified. Doesn't mean you can't seek permission. But doinking other people isn't a right. If you can swing it to be OK'd by your partner to get some on the side, then go for it. But the instant you lie, or manipulate the situation, you have crossed the line into cheating and have belittled your primary relationship to nothing.
Can you tell that I just maybe have some experience with this???

I think that justifications / excuses are simply that. They are used to calm the guilty conscience. My ex cheated on me. She said that our relationship was bad and that we were going to break up soon anyways. It was still cheating in my book (and I think most people who heard about it agreed with me). But your hypotheticals are really extreme. So I will say that there are no moral absolutes. Anything is possible.

Truthfully, if it were a long term relationship i wouldnt even do it if given my partner's permission. Seems FAR too likely to cause insecurity and jealousy sometime down the road. Maybe bitterness too. Just doesn't seem worth it.

I agree. I never cheated on my gf and I hope she never did on me. The only reason we broke up was that she moved across the country

Personaly I wouldnt do it but I have been on the outside of a situation where the girl I was with was cheatin her ass off with me. I dont care to baby sit another guys partner. If he were giving her what she needed she wouldnt even be looking. So its a loaded question. Maybe you should ask if anyone objects to hooking up with a person whom is spoken for.
If I like someone enough to single them out to be exclusive with them then they get the only real thing I can offer them....LOYALTY

I have always felt the core of a relationship is trust and when you cheat you violate that trust which from my experience can never be gotten back so to answer your question...No.
