We'll be having our second (annual?) memorial ride on Saturday Sept 25th. We are holding out the 26th just in case the weather decides not to cooperate as well.

DATE: Saturday September 25th (or Sunday the 26th if weather dictates)
TIME: We leave at 9am, ride will take 3-4 hours. PLAN TO BE AT THE PRE-RIDE LOCATION BY 8:30AM so you have time to gas up and listen to important ride details.
WHERE: Pre-ride meeting location will be the [Edited by -Barn-] Kohls off of C470 and Kipling. The ride is planned to run over Squaw Pass to Echo Lake, and the return route is still being planned. Specific roads will be given later, and we will have maps and route descriptions printed out for whoever wants them at the ride.

Last year around the same time, we had a memorial ride to honor one of our fallen club members Jessica McLeod. The date of the ride is symbolic since her birthday is that same week.

This year the weekend is being kept the same, however we're extending the purpose of the ride to honor any who we may know that loved the sport of motorcycling.

This ride will not be as long as last year's. With the high number of riders that showed up and the distance ridden, it became extremely hard to manage early on. We'll also be meeting in Denver and staying on that side of things, instead of riding to the Springs as we did previously.

The specifics of the route are TBA, however will likely involve a trip up Squaw Pass to Echo Lake, and some other sort of scenic way back down. We anticipate the ride to last about 3-4 hours with stops. The meeting location will be the Conoco at the C-470/Morrison exit. We will be leaving at 9am, so get there plenty early to gas up and get some coffee.

The ride's ending point is also not solidified yet. We're either going to end it at Clement Park for a fall BBQ, or wind up at Jillians. The downside to the BBQ is that a few people will have to basically store the food and everything else at their home near the park and set up without a whole lot of help... Needless to say, we are working out some details on this one.
BBQ UPDATE (by Spiderman) - the ride will be ending at Clement park in Littleton where everyone is welcome to join us for a BBQ (even if you didn't participate in the memorial ride). More details to come.

PSA:
Now, this isn't your average canyon ride. This one has special meaning to a lot of us, and isn't one where we expect (or want to see) people exploring the outer limits of their bikes. We're going to have a lot of riders on this one and safety will be our #1 goal. Full ride rules and other details will come about soon and be reviewed before we leave to make sure that we accomplish our goal of no tickets, no wrecks.
