Championship Cup Series (CCS) has seperated from Clear Channel Entertainment and now is an exclusively run entity headed by Kevin Elliot. CCS has also part ways with Fomula USA and now the national run series with CCS will be with the America Sportbike Racing Association (ASRA). CCS now has a new website, here is a link - CCS . The new CCS has a new points structure, entry fees remain the same for pre-entries - but increase slightly for post-entry, and they are going to be handling things all at their Ft.Worth Texas office now instead of several offices around the country handling different things.
One of the big changes is with the points structure, no longer will a racer be able to simply purchase a top 10 number plate by entering numerous classes. Now the structure will incorporate your performance index (PI) multiplied by your points, so if you win you multiply your points by 1000, but if you were mid-pack your PI may only be 300 so that multiplied by the points you recieved for your finish would add up to significantly less points than the winner. Reasoning behind this change is to add reward to those who win and not allow a constant finisher mid-pack to claim a championship as was possible up till now. The possibility to still purchase a number plate still exists, but the rider would have to have decent finishes and enter alot of classes.
Another big change is the new affiliation with Track Addixx to run the Great Plaines (GP) region as a true region and not just a slightly modified Midwest (MW) schedule. Track Addixx will use a sightly different format for their race weekends which uses most sprint classes used by CCS but all compressed into a Sunday only format. Saturdays at the GP events will be mostly practice with a 2 hour Team Endurace Race at the end of the day at every one of their events. Their region will use Road America as a season opener combined with the MW region and the newly formed ASRA national series. The other tracks they will visit will include the now completely renovated Heartland Park, Hallet, Gateway, Mid-America Motorplex, and lastly the now being constructed Motorsports Park Hastings in Hastings Nebraska (this new track is 2.23 miles long and looks like a fun layout).
Getting rid of the association with Clear Channel Entertainment (due to it having a strangle hold on how CCS was run) will probably prove to be one of the best things to happen to this organization in some time, I look forward to the new and improving CCS!

yeah, i'm liking the idea of a true GP region instead of having to drive all over hell and half of Georgia too. Now, except for RA, all the tracks are like, I dunno, something along the lines of 5 hours away...max. mommy like

It is good to see apples are apples & oranges are oranges. Sweet post Mike!
Thanks guys, I figure those not racing with CCS wouldn't know any of this is going on so I thought I would post it here for all to see.
I was considering racing both the Midwest and Great Plaines regions in 2006, but with the schedule change that just happened 2 of the events conflict with each other, that would make chasing classes in both regions unrealistic. With that in mind, I may only run the Midwest region and then run some random other races during the year like maybe Daytona during Bike Week, Barber, Heartland Park, and/or the new Hastings track. It's still too early to make those decisions since the schedules could very well change again, but as of now that's what I'm thinking.
