Your correct about me going.

I've noticed there doesn't seem to be many CCS racers on this site, nothing like the CCS message board which has nearly 2500 members. I believe that Midwest and Great Plaines racers are the majority of the members on that message board.

With the Blackhawk Farms Raceway (BFR) event done and gone I thought I would give a race report for the event. I didn't end up going to practice on Friday, which I kind of regret, but I still went for Saturday and Sundays races.

Almost every season I get arm pump on the 1st day of the 1st race at a smaller tighter track (almost always BFR) which happens pretty much every season, that's why I regret not going to the Friday practice. I went out for my only race on Saturday (the 30 minute GTO race) and had to come in after 5 or 6 laps due to my forearms pumping up so bad that I could barely feel what I was doing with my hands, better safe than sorry in my book.

Sunday I had a 2nd unfortunate race ending situation, I personally overheated during my 2nd race of the day. I have had an overheating problem my entire life, which has always been there no matter what shape I was in physically. During my 2nd race I started getting so hot that I started going slower and slower and started getting brain fade so I came in as a safety precaution. I hate doing that because I really want to race, but I have learned over the years when I have to stop or something bad is going to happen. I was wearing a Coolmax shirt but the ventilation holes in my leathers are too small to allow air to flow adequately to cool me properly, I'm going to get a leather hole punch and go thru and enlarge some of the holes before next event to try and improve air flow. I'm also considering getting a cool pack vest that uses gel packs to keep you cool, it may be my only choice.

Other than those 2 problems, I had a good time at the event and was glad I went. I finally after all these years met Buell 391 and introduced myself to him, nice to finally put a face with a name. I also got to meet Smokin' Joe and SilentR1 for the 1st time, glad to see you guys out there, see all of you again Memorial Day weekend!

What kind of times were you and Joe able to do at BFR for the 1st time being there? I was doing 1:19's with tires from last season and stock gearing. Next event I'm going to have the gearing correct for this track and maybe spring for some new tires. I also would like to get my butt out there for the practice day on Friday, that can make a big difference.

I think I was running 124s on my 61 the first weekend did not really get much pratice time that school had so many riders some of them not really interested in racing like the harly guy no slam but he was faster than some of the sportbikes or a cruser. The instructor got pissed when we passed at to great of speed even when a r6 was passing a 1000.

Next weekend was a little better at least the first day then it rained. I wasnt running a lap timer my frend was running somthing like 121-122 we were passing each other before my tires had enough. I wasnt feeling the love with mishilins that I swithced to got set up then it rained........It was actually kind of fun untill everyone got there rain tires on and I did not have the money to spend.

Nice meeting you too hopfully will be racing next year we will see.

I had to make a tough decision about racing this season, and the outcome was to throttle back and only do selected events. I'm really interested in purchasing a house so I need to get rid of some debts 1st, the racing expenses weren't allowing that to happen at the same time as racing so I decided to cut back for this season and focus more on the better overall big picture. This will allow me to have all my racing stuff where I live instead of at a storage shed so I will be able to stay better prepared in the future. I went to HP and did a real bonehead maneuver, I forgot 1 of the key rings I usually keep in my luggage. To make a long story short I had accidentally put both keys for my bike on that ring, instead of 1 on each ring, so I couldn't start the bike. I arrived at the track a little late Sunday morning, helped Mike J. get his stuff out so he could make his only practice session, then went to work trying to hot wire my bike. I didn't have enough time to get it done since my only race for the day was the GTO, which was one of the 1st races of the day. Oh well, after 9 years in the sport I can honestly say that's the only time I have ever done that.

I plan on going to Barber for sure, I also am planning on making at least 1 of the remaining 3 BFR events, possibly even all 3? If I don't race at the BFR events I will at least stop over and spectate since it's so close to where I live.
