I got 1st place again, too bad it's only for posting the 1st topic in the latest CCS catagory!
Anyways, hello to all!
I plan on racing my GSXR 750 this '05 race season in multiple Heavy Weight and Unlimited classes in the Midwest & Great Plaines Regions. Daytona is only 4 weeks away, & it will be my 1st event of the season, I'm really anxious to race again!

What, this forum is for, like, licensed CCS racers only?

I'll be covering a corner for anyone going to Road America this year. Would like to try track riding or amateur racing myself, but couldn't possibly afford it right now.

Im here! I dont get on this board much. Hi Mike! Are you rady for R/A? I ahould be done with the might Buell by next weekend. I will be a Kegel's all day tomorrow re-assembeling the engine and getting ready.
Man I am getting pumped for R/A! Had a good season last year... hoping for a great season this year for my last year as an Am.
Any how... happy Easter to all my CCS freinds and family! Mark
Hello Mark, yes I am going to Road America, should be fun! I won't be an ass and say that I raced at Daytona a couple weeks ago and was down there for 11 days in 70+ degree weather during Bike Week, that wouldn't be nice.
I guess it also wouldn't be nice to say that I got to work on the pit crew for the AMA Pro Racing M4 Suzuki team for a week while I was down there either? Chris Ulrich, Geoff May, and Vincent Haskoveck are the riders on the team (sadly Chris got a concussion). Geoff was on fire fast and finished 6th and 8th if I remember correctly (I was standing right behind him in an M4 Suzuki shirt while he was being interviewed on the grid by Greg White from SPEED). Vincent actually won the Superstock race, that was awesome being on the crew as that happened! I have a picture with Vincent, and all 3 riders were cool. It was an awesome experience that I may be doing again.

I just noticed something here, are you racing your R1? If so, you can't run the Heavyweight classes, you'll be in the Unlimited classes. This year the ones available to you are (ULSS) Supersport, (ULSB) Superbike, & (ULGP) GP.
I haven't decided what classes to do yet, but HWSS and HWSB are definately 2 of them for the whole season. I would highly suggest picking classes and following them the whole season, that reaps huge rewards in the points by the end of the season.
You guys are going to Road America right? I suggest that if you are to have reservations if your staying at a hotel, they often times have a couple different things going on in the area around that time. Sheboygan is very nearby and has a number of hotels and some restraunts and is about 15 minutes from the track. Fondulac is the opposite direction and is about 30+ minutes away, but is a bigger city and has alot of hotels and food options. Just a heads up if you didn't know already.

sweet thanks mike. I was having some serious issues about the classes there for the last 2 weeks or so. I certainly appreciate the tips about the hotel. how is the weather there around this time of year? we were talking about camping at the track instead, but if I'm going to be freezing my you-know-what off, i'm down for a hotel instead!

RA can have some crazy extremes for weather at that event, I have seen it 80* and sunny, another time it was snowing early in the same week, several times it has rained, and last year it was cold and the fog was so bad they couldn't get on the track Sunday till something like 11am (the fog was from Lake Michigan which is about 15 miles west of the track).
The weather can be a question in April but it's still usually well worth going, I wish they still had the 2nd event they use to have every year late in the summer. RA also has some crazy rules, some concerning staying overnight at the facility. I believe that they charge you to stay overnight at the facility, but I don't know how much? There are 2 newer big bathroom buildings that have some nice shower facilities if you do decide to camp there, but you may need to find out when the showers are open, I believe they use to be closed for certain parts of the day, but that may be diffrent now.
